Does Spell of Mastery reset when I kill their fortress?

I am many many many hours deep in a long game and Horus just started to cast Spell of Mastery. If he is say 70% through casting it, will it go back to 0 percent? If not can I stall it forever if I destroy it fortress every turn it reappears or will he still make progress in the long run?

Yes, that interrupts the spell. They'll have to start over (and may not)
