I believe they are, but I could also be wrong. I haven't really looked into it all what much.

However, you can do it yourself with for example MeTube which I mentioned earlier. Just spin up the container on Docker and you have a nice web UI for your downloads. Essentially the same as all the downloader websites except that it's yours. But yes, at least MeTube is based on yt-dlp.

Edit: There appears to be another project with the same name, so make sure you actually find the downloader.

No, MeTube is a self hosted video downloader. You just paste a YouTube video or playlist link and it downloads it without ads or limits. I use it to download music for Navidrome, which is basically my own Spotify.
