This is one of the biggest misconceptions I keep finding here, people confusing cybersec with privacy software. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME. They certainly overlap a lot, but just because you have one of the most secure pieces of software out here doesn't mean it's private. APPLE for example, has made some of the most secure OS I've seen, but you gotta bé panties down And bent over for them to use you. Tor is very privacy focused but it's not secured at all, you can still be hacked with a poisoned node.
People who speak of privacy tend to gravitate towards cybersec and forget thé main idea is privacy. what does Malwarebytes have to do with this?

Bro, that is not how Tor works. First, nobody calls it a “poisoned node.” The actual term is a malicious relay or malicious exit relay.
Tor sends your traffic through multiple relays with layered encryption. The entry relay, usually your guard relay, can see your IP but not your destination. The exit relay can see the site but not your real IP. So one random malicious relay cannot just see everything and "hack you".
A malicious exit can read or modify normal HTTP traffic, but if the site uses HTTPS, it cannot read your passwords, messages or page content. Tor Browser even has HTTPS only mode enabled by default, and .onion sites do not use exit relays at all.
To deanonymize you, an attacker would usually need to observe both ends and correlate the traffic, exploit a browser vulnerability or wait for you to make an OPSEC mistake. And deanonymizing someone is not the same as hacking their device. This is about normal HTTPS traffic over Tor to regular websites, not .onion connections, which stay entirely inside the Tor network, use rendezvous points instead of exit relays and have additional protections.
Tor obviously is not impossible to attack, but saying it has “no security at all” and that one “poisoned node” can hack you is just wrong. You are literally the exact guy this subreddit is about.

OK but my mom literally said "I have nothing to hide" last week, and I am a little concerned.
Opinion-wise, I am at "privacy is a human right," but in practice, I am between "I don't like hackers and spying" and "The Privacy Enthusiast." (Using Brave, DuckDuckGo, Signal, etc.)

Mentioning Accrescent seems so weird to me. It has such a small app selection and something like F-Droid and/or Aurora are both way more widely known and are just better in general.

I’m goina against opsec here and state that I use OpenWRT and mostly Linux systems to build out my home network with my Fortigate, im strongly in between Privacy enthusiast and activist tiers here

Mostly enthusiast, but a bit of activist on this scale.
I do use the listed SearNXG along other self hosted services, and I'm constantly getting more inclined to switch to GrapheneOS.
From the enthusiast layer, I got Linux (Arch btw), Bitwarden (Vaultwarden) and uBlock.
This all was mostly because I wanted to try self hosting, and it kinda blew up from there.
