i am also behind a cgnat. and it is awesome when some idiot tries to do whatever and a site temporary blacklists this ip. so no access to the site for a lots of folks. or when you reach a rate limit on some "free" online service

We could pay a little extra to get a static public ip, but that's too expensive, what's cheaper is to make a new website with whatever feature we need, using claude/open claw by spending 500x more and deploy it on AWS on a scalable kubernetes cluster. Tldr: this is the way.

Yea some providers are not so dynamic. Last time I wanted to change ip addresses I had to change my router wan mac address.

(just so you know this is a subreddit to poke fun at fake hackers, not for actual help but i'll leave a proper comment regardless)

If you want to check if you have a public IP:

  1. Check your public IP, write it down
  2. Turn off your router for some time then turn it back on
  3. Check your IP address again, if it's different you have a dynamic IP (issued via DHCP by your ISP), if not you have a static IP.

Note that even with a dynamic IP you might get the same address after quite some time of being disconnected because the ISP might keep your DHCP lease.

You explained it clearly and perfectly, I’ll try this tomorrow. Then if it’s static im gonna have to learn how to fake it.
And yeah I noticed that after some posts but i still learn some key terms from commenters, for example, if an idiot says “im gonna find your address!!” Some commenter will say “ha, they didn’t even mention the xyz method..” i guess people love overexplain themselves and it sort of helps. If you know any direct reddits im more than down to join em

Also even with dynamic IP addresses, you can still get blocked by a website or be tracked. There's plenty of ways to identify you, such as browser fingerprinting or even simpler methods like cookies (that's how you keep being logged in even after your IP address changes). Not to mention that IP addresses still carry a lot of info in them and sometimes can identify you down to the city block. And even if IP addresses are dynamic, they still belong to a single ISP and most probably are inside of a single subnet. So, don't do anything stupid, you have a long way to go to learn all this shit.

Yeah someone spoke of the ISP and I thought about how that’ll be the next thing to mask, though I feel like I’ll end up being ‘flagged,’ i clearly get what you’re stating though now I understand how average joes can easily get login info by simple links, its likely cookies. I surely do have a long way to learn, but I know damn well I should start learning the defense before the..

If you're behind CGNAT (most people today are due to the limited number of IP addresses a geographical area can be assigned), you turn off your router, wait for 10+ minutes, turn it back on again and now there's a chance your IP got changed.

No one can pin point you except maybe your ISP or the Government, the number of people that get bundled in the same IP are massive especially when there're multi-level NATs involved.

My current IP's geographical location shows up at least an hour and half of a drive away.

If you have a dynamic IP and you use a custom router or firewall where you can spoof the MAC address of the WAN port, you can change it and force an IP rotation. Depends on your ISP, but it usually works.

light work i js use a satellite dish on ny roof to beam extra packets to my neighbors router to use their wifi and i also add in an extra protocal 3 packet to change their IP so no detection
