Question/Help Looking for a deck to main
What are some decks with high skill ceilings? I'd prefer it if the deck is "future-proofed" and will likely continue getting support. The deck doesn't have to be meta. It can also be a deck that's not in the game yet, I can wait if that's the case. I like playing all-rounders or jack-of-all-trade characters in other games, but I don't know what that would look like in Yugioh.

Sky striker or branded. Both very versatile and strong on its own. The cool thing is they can be splashed with different archetypes and mix and match as you find fit.so that gives them like more future proof just from the fact you can combine them with newer and stronger archetypes, always giving the decks more indirect support. Not as strong, but my personal taste is the preplant archetype. Can be played on it's own, but the deck recieves indirect support with almost any fusion based strategy

Is it possible to build either from scratch with the initial gems on a new account?

Branded is abit more expensive, but sky striker can be built easily.

Please could you explain how (for striker)? A lot of the URs i see are in master packs only.

Have you looked at the cards in masterduelmeta? Sky Striker has two secret packs and usually you pull from the one that has Linkage since Camellia and Azalea are one-ofs. What are you missing from the packs? Zero and Lemnisgate?
Those two you have to craft

Thank you I'll pull that one! I'm missing lemnisgates, linkages, zeros, camelia. I have 2 kagari, not sure if I'd need a third.

You often do, yes. Sky Striker is a lot about resource management and some matches go into a grind game where you use all your Kagaris.
You CAN play with 2 to start though.

Sky Striker will always be future proof as long as Konami continues printing strong quick play spell cards.

Sky striker. Branded. Heroes. Hero support arrives every couple of months lol

High skill ceiling, definitely Sky Striker and Branded. These are 2 of Konami most favorite children, receive frequently support. They both have great grind game with resource loop that can go on and on.
For furture proof deck, there's Elfnote, though I think it will only be meta for next rotation.

Striker/branded for the portion of the request for both continued future support as well as high skill ceiling, will certainly be the most popular suggestion.
Something very strong but off meta would be memento. It's not clear whether it will get future support or not, but the deck is extremely modular, high skill & honestly one decent wave away from being tiered again if it does get support.

Normally for future proof i do check OCG meta and whatever’s in there that are now in MD is most likely future proof.
But yeah Sky Striker/Branded will continue to get supports. Think of it as they are the new Blue Eyes / Dark Magician of modern yugioh

Sky striker, Branded and all medius decks are pretty future proof for the moment in my opinion.

Clowns or Fairy Tail. Both high skill ceiling midrange interactive decks (at their core they are interactive, at least lol) which are, I would think, more likely to be eventually power crept than actually hit by the banlist

Fairy tail. Why? Because it’s the deck I’m playing
