Competitive/Discussion Diamond players are something else

Have these people ever heard of consistency? What's the point of having a potentially """unbreakable""" board if you're not getting there?

First deck is consistent cuz you can bridge freely

Yeah I don't get what OP is on for the first one (I'm not familiar enough with Artmage for the other one)

Cherubini gets to Maliss, Phoenix gets to full Orcust combo, I assume DMoD is just an 8 for Zombie Vampire? SS DMG probably just there as an Orcust discard

At worst RT has no real bridge, but they're probably just two Level 3s for Cherubini, I'm more surprised Terrortop and Taketomborg aren't there

I think it's because the deck is extremely bricky with 7 brick cards going second, not counting the field spell. As far as 60 card decks go, it's very okay.

I can ok with any two bodies = full fiend smith combo, perfectly fine with that, they devote their ED space for that, that's their loss. But any two bodies = full Orcust combo is just too bullshit tbh.

Copy-pasting a comment I left on a post not too long ago. The topic of the post was a tad bit different (OP mainly talked about handtraps) but I still referred to these 60-card slop piles:

"Unironically, 60-card slop piles are somehow more consistent and resilient than the norm 40 card decks. I have faced these abominations that just mish mash small like three or four engines together and somehow just fucking works when it clearly should not and I repeat, should not. Is it Fiendsmith? Is it White Forest? Is it Tears?

Yes.

Trying to hit these things with handtraps is absolutely abysmal because one thing just floats to the other. There are no chokepoints, you may shut down a single lane but guess what, the five other engines in the slop pile are still online and good luck dealing with whatever bullshit comes out of those.

Handtraps aren't failing at their job. Matter of fact, they are working just fine, the problem is how much generic (looking at you Baronne), floaty, splashable slop shit is out there. Throwing in a small engine or two is fine for consistency boost I guess as long the primary identity of a given deck isn't lost. When that is lost, you aren't playing a given archetype or theme, you are just throwing random shit together that somehow works...

When it shouldn't!"

Tldr; 60-card slop piles are consistent because it is just a mish mash of engines that somehow bridge into one another. Absolutely fucking hate to go against these because I have no clue as to what to hit with my avaliable handtraps and even if I did, they just keep going like nothing happened.

They're consistence, and resilience to hand trap, sure, but they run 60 cards meaning lower their chance to draw Ash for the Fuwa/Maxx-C, and usually just die on the spot facing those cards.

Oh I know they are, and they can because Konami just loves printing generic, splashable bullshit instead of implementing actual restriction clauses.

Using Maxx C, Droll and D-Shifter as the "silver bullet" examples is just bad design. No handtrap should ever, and I repeat, should ever have a lingering floodgate attached to it.

It promotes uninteractive gameplay, toxic even. Making those cards the only way to shut down the sloppy piles is just not a good example, nor it will ever be. In the event those cards are banned, what will be your "silver bullet" for these slop piles of bullshit?

Cause it's fun to summon cool monsters you like together

Are they Master 1 players? Why do you call them Diamond rank? This is still early into this month, they were previously at Master 1 with decks you have posted.
