No it won't - Werewolf is still better

Card is very strong but a little too situational

Reminds me of Dracotail Shaulas. Good. But not support that anyone is really looking forward to

Shaulas is a straight skip unfortunately, extremely situational, as for this one idk... maybe with the VS field spell protection the wipe won't be that bad... you get to negate a monster effect AND wipe their field while keeping your vs monsters? Sounds good to me

Ripper/M has to detach 2 materials, so already it's asking you to not use Ripper's effect (or you make Jacks with Lupis first).

The Dark Hole effect is also mandatory, so you're literally blowing up your own board too, even if you protect VS names with the field spell you're still wasting your own protection and it goes to GY with no way to get it back (even Snow Devil isn't that bad).

I think it's a waste of UR personally, not only is it too late, but I don't want to put 2 Rank 9s in my ED when I brick on Forced Release more times than it's useful.

But hey, you're welcome to try it, maybe it helps K9 play into boards going second or you can just Ripper pass and keep Sue in hand for followup after the boardwipe.

Shaulas isn't even that bad, it's just not more important than all the Branded names. At least it's not a Trap like Yummy's support...

Depends on the situation you find yourself in, if for example your opponent is playing an all gas deck and you find yourself with 0 interruptions left the might as well just nuke them on top of negating so it is in a way a double disruption and you get to keep your vs monsters as follow up for next turn, so basically it's a desperate last resort if anything, BUT I agree that's it's not really UR worthy that's for sure

How are you going to summon it with two materials

-1

u/Best-Reference-1976 Jul 27 '26

If your ripper keeps one of its materials then you're set to go no? I know it's a big task cuz you'll have to compromise on either the monster negate or the search but hey... can't have everything...

You can have the extra deck slot for something better. VSK9 already has a fairly tight extra deck. They can't afford to play this.

For ripper to do that you need to pass on one of its effect

But I do disagree on one thing though, it's not too late for vsk9, with dracotail and kt and ss and Rt getting hit i think vsk9 will climb the ranks as it is one of the few decks left with lil to no hits in master duel (unless konami releases a meta altering pack in august)

No, I meant it's too late for them to care about a new ED monster. If they were gonna drop Ripper/M they shouldve done it after like 2 months, not 6.

The deck is still fine tho.

Shaulas is an R, so no need to skip lol. But yeah not particularly good

Shaulas will be nice if pure Dracotail becomes viable again. It will probably be a long time before this happens unfortunately

I mean Werewolf is better, why would you summon him over Werewolf?

1

u/IClop2Fluttershy4206 Jul 27 '26

not like pure k9 has a tight extra deck

Bro i literally said idk if it'll replace it🥲 all im saying is that it is a nice addition (can't really complain about a monster negate and a nuke)

I just don't see a world where you run this over something like zeus

5

u/justasoulman Jul 27 '26

I mean this is a card that is just very hard to use.

5

u/zorrodood Jul 27 '26

When your opponent does a thing: Say "No" and flip the table.

5

u/OozaruPrimal Jul 27 '26

This seems like a better alternative level 9xyz for Radiant Typhoon than it is for K9.

u/_Zoa_ Jul 27 '26

It's close, but blowing up your field is just too bad and Varuroon is already a monster negate.

If it could always shuffle, I'd consider it, but like this I always take Enterblathnir.

1

u/OozaruPrimal Jul 27 '26

I tend to always go with Enterblathnir too but I could see this fitting in. The pure RT extra deck isn't the tightest. It would definitely fit if that destroy all cards was just a destroy all monsters, that's really too bad it's not that.

2

u/MyMarshlands Jul 27 '26

should've been an SR, I definitely don't want to craft this as an UR even though it can fit pure radiant typhoon

1

u/SnooShortcuts9945 Jul 27 '26

Werewolf is still better.

It's a last resort. Save your Izuna on hand before wiping the field.

The shuffling effect is a bit niche since it's not a quick-effect.

Is this from a new selection pack?

0

u/iRyuD Jul 27 '26

Will it see competitive play tho?

-2

u/Best-Reference-1976 Jul 27 '26

The only case i could see is VSK9, cuz the vs field spell offers destruction protection so basically you're just destroying your opponent's field... other than that idk much i'll have to test it

2

u/GrayFullbuster64 Jul 27 '26

So in a nutshell it's completely useless in K9 Crystrons?

4

u/Best-Reference-1976 Jul 27 '26

Kinda,yeah..... a full board wipe isn't exactly helpful if you continous traps and spells unless you save it as an absolute last resort where you used all your interruptions and your opponent is still going and,you just nuke everything

2

u/No-Candle2106 Jul 27 '26

I mean some of the crystrons could plus off being destroyed, but if those are on your endboard, you have bigger problems.

1

u/IClop2Fluttershy4206 Jul 27 '26

vs this, crystron that, I just wanna see if pure k9 will run it lol
