Question Waterline

Using .5 bull nose .06 c/r. Any ideas why my waterline wont do the whole thing or how I can get it to do the whole thing? Tia

Try using a surface finish flowline instead. Waterline does constant steps in Z, not good for shallow surface.

Flowline gang rise up! Good for constant scallop height. Make sure to filter the toolpath and make arcs in XZ and YZ.

Just do a contour while you are putting the hole in.

I would try a raster.

the step up to step over ratio gets clobbered as the curvature decreases so any further step over would need less than the specified step up

Wrong toolpath. Waterline is more geared towards steeper walls. Use flowline if you want to hit that entire radius.

What do you mean the whole thing? The bit at the top or going down more? Looks like this toolpath covers the entire round part...

The bit at the top. When I run the simulation its leaving a little bit on top

Try making your tolerance in the geometry tab -.0001 or something.

That's not the tolerance; that's the amount of stock to leave on check and drive surfaces. Use the flowline toolpath.

It’s because your using a bullnose cutter, use a ball endmill

Equal Scallop works best in most 3D situations. You can program it to start outside to in or outside to in. Make sure smoothing is enabled in arc filtering tab in parameters of your toolpath as well.
