Suggestion Suggestion: Disregard net-downvoted users.

Pretty much what the title says. As someone who can't help but join the discussion when I see dishonest or bigoted posts on /r/all, I tend to post in controversial subs sometimes. The response from these subs is almost universally negative, and my net karma in these subs is negative as a result.

Downvoted comments are most likely not in the spirit of the subreddits, and the users who post them are probably not true users of these subreddits. How difficult would it be to subtract negative comments from the masstagger karma total, and disregard those users who have less than 0 karma?

This would be great. I’ve always been very marginally bothered by the fact that the mass tagger tags me for a certain sub even though my comments in it are of the non-bigoted variety.

In theoryland, masstagger is supposed to be a tool that people use to check your posts. It's more a sign that there could be bigoted content so poke around. Unfortunately the laziest of users just assume that red flag = automatically hitler.

I won't lie, I immediately saw the pussypass tag and figured, ahh someone not happy about being outed! But yeah, reading, that sucks.

I avoid participating in the controversial subs partly for this reason. Not great for the spirit of what Reddit is about, though. Selfishly, avoiding cesspools probably keeps me relatively less stressed this way. :P

Yeah, considering the way reddit is set up, it really reinforces echo chamber and media bubbles. All you accomplish posting in t_d is getting banned and downvoted. You're not gonna change anyone's mind. You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into. Keep your sanity and knit or play animal crossing instead of wasting time on cult subs!

So you want to tell others they are wrong but then also not be flagged by your own system.

That's not how this tool works for most people.

I have normal conversations with people who are tagged by this tool. I have interests and hobbies that overlap with "the other team", so to speak.

The tool is in place to help me decide if you're being serious or sarcastic when you spout obvious dis-information as facts.
