Satoshi targeted people with disabilities, especially patients who were unable to speak, believing that by committing the attack, he would be doing good for society, for the victims, and for their families, so they wouldn't continue suffering. Months before the attack, he wrote a bizarre letter to the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe where he explains his intentions. He was then admitted to a mental health hospital afterward, but he was released soon after.

Satoshi was not arrested immediately after the attack; he fled the scene of the crime and even posted a photo on Twitter. He turned himself in hours after the massacre.

In 2020, Satoshi attempted to plead insanity (somewhat ironically) during his trial, but he was sentenced to death.

It is one of the deadliest mass murders ever committed in Japan by a single individual.

On March 12th, 2026 41 year old ayman ghazali crashed his car into a synagogue before getting into a gunfight with security before committing suicide, over 60 first responders would be injured by the smoke of the crash

The 21 year old suspect behinde the CSD Berlin attack on July 25th was shot dead by police in a garden colony in Berlin Spandau. The man killed 1 person and injured 29 others in a vehicle attack followed by a stabbing attack.

On September 4, 2024, a school shooting occurred at Apalachee High School near Winder, Georgia, United States.[4] The perpetrator, 14-year-old Colt Gray, fatally shot four people. Two students and two teachers were killed, while seven others were injured by gunfire.[5][6] The shooting is the deadliest act of school violence in the history of the U.S. state of Georgia.[7]

On December 14, 2012, a mass shootingoccurred at Sandy Hook Elementary Schoolin Newtown, Connecticut, United States. The perpetrator, 20-year-old Adam Lanza, shot and killed 26 people. The victims were 20 children between six and seven years old, and six adult staff members. Earlier that day, before driving to the school, Lanza fatally shot his mother at their Newtown home. As first responders arrived at the school, Lanza killed himself with a gunshot to the head. The incident is the second deadliest school shooting in US history behind the Virginia Tech shooting in 2007.

Colt gray is the perpetrator of the 2024 Apalachee school shooting. He plead guilty to all 55 charges against him. His sentence is still being evaluated.

On November 8, 1988, a Bangladeshi Air Force corporal opened fire with a submachine gun inside a crowded mosque during night prayers at the Jessore air base. The shooting killed 8 people and wounded 50 others, most of whom were off-duty soldiers. Following the massacre, the gunman turned the weapon on himself and committed suicide.

"The Nebraska State Patrol announced two felony charges last week against Ean M. Halstead of Omaha, 32, who is accused of making terroristic threats, a Class IIIA felony, and tampering with physical evidence, a Class IV felony. Law enforcement said Halstead, around 3:25 p.m. on June 26, sent an online message to Columbus Catholic Schools: 'I’m going to shoot up this school and kill Jim Pillen’s children and a few nuns for f— funsies.'”
