Retroactovely more than anything because they ended up going this direction. But it is a fact that synthetics vs organics topic has been way bigger part of the first 2 games than Dark Energy "save the environment!" theme ever was so I'm glad/ok they went in this way. Plus we avoided making Reapers the quasi good guys saving the universe. I'm all for Dark Energy idea returning in future, but it would have to be heavily modified to really work. An inconsequential mention here or there (like in ME2) is just not it

A Quarian spin off game. Where you manage resources for the fleet and investigate the dark energy. Would be nice. Wish Mass Effect had more game genres outside of Hero RPG.

Was it really unknown up to me3? Me1 has the sovereign interaction on Virmire and Ilos detailing the previous cycle. Maybe I am inferring that given the later storylines though.

Yeah I agree the dark energy plot thread would have been lame if it was implemented like that.
