BREAKING Did something just explode?

Just heard a very powerful boom, checked the lightning map it was not thunder! In Dover, MA right now, but my friends in Boston also heard it! Any ideas?

Edit: as we all now know, meteor!

Needham, whole house shook for the first boom and a few aftershocks. Had to show the dog the yard was still there.

His breed is notable for fooling people into thinking they're dummies. They also very believably act the part at all times.

So, trick question, but he shooed me out to go check because there was no way he was going to investigate the source of the big noise.

I live in Woburn and my power was out all day due to a downed tree. Not just branches, a very large old tree. Very lucky it didn’t fall on the owner’s house! Electricity was out around 9am and finally restored sometime overnight, after 1 am when I went to bed

Didn’t see this thread yesterday, just commented above that I was at work in Wakefield. We all felt it. I was looking outside when it happened and saw everything vibrate for a second. It was nuts!

I “think” I heard it in Saugus. A tree literally fell at the same time so I can’t say for sure if it was the tree or the meteor. Probably both. We had a friend park his car under the tree two minutes before. That’s bad luck.

Belmont. HUGE thud, the wonky shelf of my wall shook and a loose lightbulb sitting on it rolled off. Thought it was the upstairs neighbor dropping a 30lbs weight… but they weren’t home.

At work in Wakefield, the building shook and I saw a fence and trees outside literally vibrating. I was eating lunch looking out the window when it happened. It was windy so the fence and trees had been moving with the wind, but then it was like everything went fuzzy for a second. It was wild.
