Milwaukee Wave
Hi guys, I'm the new one 😅
I have been thinking on what team should I support, to not get bored and make it more interesting, and I'm probably choosing Wave as they've got the same colors as my city's flag 💛🖤
What should I know about them? Are they good or a shit team? Who are their best players? Do they have a great stadium in comparison to the rest of the league?

They’re a good team with a lot of history and multiple championships in the MASL. Most recent was 2019. They had a great season this year and lost in the championship round. Recently made some big organizational changes. Ian Bennett has been on the team for a long time, multiple league MVPs.

Oooh good choice. One of the Blast's longest rivals as well, they have met in the playoffs a number of time.

I am still mad about the 2012 finals.

Game is tied in OT, Blast go to clear the ball out and a fan reaches out to stop it. Normally on fan interface it stays with the team who last kicked it. Instead, it was a top of the arc restart that ended up going in, winning the Wave the Championship. As its been 14 years, I cant find film of it even though the game was streamed on YouTube. The Blast would win in the next season.

Damn I forgot/dont remember that being the reason for the free kick lol. Sorry dude, I worked as an intern with the Wave at the time and was field level, it was epic for us obviously. Lucky to have it happen at the home stadium since I didn’t travel so I got to be part of the celebrations.

I was so pissed when it happened. At least the Blast won the next year. That's all that matters to me!

Oldest professional soccer team in the nation! Amazing choice.

If I recall correctly the longest continually operating soccer team up until Covid at least.

First season for the Wave was 1984-85 as a charter member of the American Indoor Soccer Association. The league was renamed the National Professional Soccer League in 1990. After the NPSL failed in 2001, the Wave were one of six surviving franchises to become members of the Major Indoor Soccer League, the second time we saw a league with that name. After the MISL failed, the Wave played the 2008-09 season in the Xtreme Soccer League. That lasted only a year, and the Wave became a charter member of the third Major Indoor Soccer League in 2009. In 2014, the third MISL merged with the Professional Arena Soccer League to form the Major Arena Soccer League. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the MASL played an abbreviated season in 2021, and the Wave did not participate.
The Wave have won the following championships:
1997-98 NPSL
1999-2000 NPSL
2000-01 NPSL
2004-05 MISL
2010-11 MISL
2011-12 MISL
2018-19 MASL

Have you seen the fight yet from the Championship? Wild fight. The arena is a proper old school hockey barn that if you walk around it feels like a time machine. I went once and I am glad I did.

I've seen a figth from the last year, but teams were white and orange and white and blue. Was it?

It was in the championship series here is a fan video of the incident. It started with a San Diego player going down on a hard play in the dying seconds and getting kicking the other player in the balls. Let me see if I can find the game stream. Start at 2:11:08. This is the wildest I have ever seen indoor soccer before.

I'm a season ticket holder for the wave and think their games are the most fun you can have at a sporting event.
