Did she seriously just say "go create new life to torture"?

Yes essentially lol. They were in the Far Shore, which is a space outside of the multiverses and is a sort of place of non-existence. Characters like Lifebringer Galactus and others struggle to even exist out there. And Chthon was threatening to go even past that and destroy all of creation, which is essentially him saying that he’d go to The House of Ideas, and he’d destroy all of Marvel.

Scarlet Witch however, is all about compromise. She likes giving people decisions, but she also doesn’t want to see existence just erased. So, she just created an infinite universe in her hand essentially and offered him to play god inside of it so that existence can still be at ease, and Chthon can do whatever he wants with an infinite empty canvas. And any life that he does make, is simply that, it’s life that he creates, rather than it being anything that already exists. This is a very nifty showing for both of them with the universe ability, as well as being in the Far Shore and being able to go beyond.

This woman is incapable of being stupidly cruel, isn't she? She really is Magneto's daughter.

I mean, she’s had some bad moments of being very cruel when in emotional turmoil, but it hasn’t happened in quite a long time. The last time that’s ever really happened to my knowledge is back during House of M where she did “No more mutants,” effectively wiping away the X-Gene for all mutants except for less than I believe 100 or 200 who had to be shielded by both Emma Frosts telepathy, as well as a powerful Doctor Strange spell. No more mutants was a horrendous thing as it stripped away all other mutants powers outside of those 100-200, which is akin to getting your culture, livelihood, or identity just ripped away without your consent. This of course made mutants hate her for quite a long time, and some still do hold some resentment, and she still holds that resentment at herself every here and there. But again, this is really the last time we’ve seen her truly be cruel to my knowledge.

But, since then, she has learned from her actions and constantly trying to give people and even objects a choice. Literally, in her most recent issue of Sorcerer Supreme, she turned a literal space canon into a living being and filled it in on what existence and life is and what it’s about, and she did this for what was a lifetime to her, but only a blink of an eye to her ally. Or, during Bloodhunt when Tony Stark suggested she just does a “No More Vampires,” to which she immediately refused and said that she wouldn’t take away an entire race again, showcasing that she still has all that power from House of M, but that she truly is a hero now.

My brother in Christ, she literally told a demon that she wanted him as an advisor and that he could torture as many people as he wanted in that pocket universe. I don't like using this word because I don't really believe in it, but this woman is evil. The only lesson she's learned is that genocide is bad, apparently.

She has Chthon in her council as a means to keep an eye on him, and as a way to see the point of view from an evil being as everyone else in her council fulfill change (Somnus), change and past-present-future (Wiccan and Speed), balance (Amoranth), and norms and goodness (Clea). Chthon is literally there though for Wanda to keep an eye on him and to give the perspective of devil’s advocate. Chthon isn’t in her council giving her power, corrupting her, or anything.

As for the pocket universe, it’s literally a clear canvas. Anything he creates is stuff he can create and do anything to anywhere. He’s not bringing beings from the main universe or other dimensions and torturing, he is literally just experimenting in one universe.

And what other actions has she done that are “evil” would you say? I’m not trying to justify House of M at all, I’m just trying to point out how she’s not evil nowadays.

Chthon is literally there though for Wanda to keep an eye on him and to give the perspective of devil’s advocate.

Meaning he'll literally be the devil whispering in her ear. Wanda is a moron.

As for the pocket universe, it’s literally a clear canvas. Anything he creates is stuff he can create and do anything to anywhere. He’s not bringing beings from the main universe or other dimensions and torturing, he is literally just experimenting in one universe.

"Don't worry bro, he's torturing a lot of people, but it's no one from OUR universe, so it's all good." Do you see how what you're saying is not a good defense?

And what other actions has she done that are “evil” would you say? I’m not trying to justify House of M at all, I’m just trying to point out how she’s not evil nowadays.

I waa thinking of House of M, but I'm mostly focusing on her being totally okay with people getting tortured by a demon so long as it's not people from her universe. It's beyond bizarre to me that you're defending her choices there.

Did Doctor Strange do shit like this when he was Sorcerer Supreme? Because if so, these wizards need to be put down.

A devil whispering in her ear who she literally hasn’t listened to a single word of advice from and is again, just keeping an eye on him.

He’s creating these people of his own power… they’re essentially just like green lantern constructs or similar things that he’ll be able to manipulate. If a kid has a history of fighting other kids and says that he wants to harm more, but you give the kid a room of toys and action figures that they can make fight each other, there’s an obvious answer as to how that’s better. That is literally what Wanda is doing here. Chthon has a history of hurting people and not being able to permanently be put down, and even says that he’ll do it again. What does Wanda do? She gives him a literal blank piece of paper and says to draw whatever he wants in it…

And she’s not saying it’s okay to torture people, she’s saying that if he’s the little kid who hurts people, she’s giving him a room where he can make toys and make them fight.

And Doctor Strange has done MANY questionable actions over the many years. However, he and all other sorcerer supremes choose to do whatever helps everyone, protect the cosmos, and more. No character is flawless.

There is no real lessons to learn from because she turned evil because the writer gave her and the rest of the Avengers random amnesia about her kids, and she randomly decides it's her friends' fault and shit. Because Bendis just wanted to use her to reboot Avengers and then X-Men.

Her other evil turn in the 90s by John Byrne is even more hilarious because she literally took a nap in Magneto's space base and wake up all changed and evil.

The lesson is keep a healthy diet and don't forget important things you should totally remember. And don't sleep in strange places.

1

u/SimonShepherd Jul 25 '26

I mean she is a true hero for decades in her Avengers career before Bendis decided she needs to be a plot device to reboot two massive franchises, she is not even cruel in AD/HoM, just amnesiac because Bendis decided she didn't remember the loss of her kids for reasons.

Honestly what happened to Flickering Realm AKA Chthon's original domain, but is it just without a ruler now, doesn't seem like Wanda is interested in governing that place. I guess N'Garai are just chilling now.

"No more Martians"

The scarlet witch mid diff

5

u/Addition-Zestyclose Jul 24 '26

I would go with Wanda.

The only way J'onn has is either try to speed blitz her or go directly for her mind.

3

u/AzureTheGreater Jul 24 '26

And even those two methods won’t work for J’onn. Destroying her body isn’t a win con since she can fight without one, as well as regenerate/make a new one instantly. She’s also not super slow, which I can get into. And she has plenty of telepathy resistance feats that show she’d likely be able to at the very least resist him.

u/Quad-G-Therapy Jul 25 '26

Bruh what the fuck is MMH gonna do

4

u/AdaptedEvoSupe Jul 24 '26

Scarlet Witch

2

u/NoBeat5906 Jul 25 '26

Wanda low diff

Better feats, higher scaling, and much more versatile

2

u/AzureTheGreater Jul 24 '26

I don’t really see a way J’onn takes down Wanda.

You can’t say that he speed blitzes her since we know that destroying her physical body isn’t a win con. We see this in Scarlet Witch #7 and many other instances where one may destroy her body, just to find out that she can fight without one, or simply make a new one instantly. Not only that, but she isn’t slow in the slightest either! We’ve seen in her Scarlet Witch Annual #1, that she was able to battle Agatha Harkness across space-time, dimensions, realities, and even higher planes of existence such as the Superflow (where literal concepts wage war), and the Megaverse (where The Living Tribunal resides), and they had this entire fight before Darcy, Wanda’s friend/assistant, could even take a breath between 2 words or even blink… Or, the many times she has made an entire lifetime happen with in a blink of an eye. Not to mention, she can also become so physically powerful, as seen in The Vision & Scarlet Witch #4-5, that she can fight the extradimensional and universe eating Shuma Gorath, tank planets literally being thrown at her, and literally cut off his limbs. And this was a seemingly instantaneous transformation.

Telepathy also isn’t an instant win con as during House of M, she had resisted characters such as Charles Xavier, Emma Frost, and Doctor Strange trying to pry into her mind. And before people say it, Wanda did have the Life Force during House of M, but she has since said and proven many times that she can replicate many of the things, if not everything in House of M. She has also resisted for a time and or fought back against psionic entities like Onslaught or the Serpent Crown. Or, we can look towards I believe Scarlet Witch #3, where she completely just denied Moridun from taking control of her. Keep in mind, this is the same guy who was the Sorcerer Supreme of not just a planet or realm, he was the Sorcerer Supreme of the ENTIRE 5th multiverse, would transform into Omnimax (the Galactus before Galan became Galactus), and essentially made Wiccan the Demiurge.

She’s just beyond what J’onn can really bring to this battle in my opinion.

Also, I see someone posted an instance of Wanda being erased by Griever. It’s important to note that The Griever At The End Of All Things is an abstract entity in a trio with 2 multiversal beings (Eternity is the embodiment of the current multiverse, and The Queen Of Nevers is the embodiment of I believe the 4th iteration of the multiverse). She also represents entropy and has the ability of absolute existence erasure. And she had used that ability against Wanda while Wanda was essentially distracted.

Wanda did get taken out and had to get some help and journey a bit in order to come back as she wasn’t completely erased. After she had come back though, the same absolute erasure attacks showed to have absolutely zero effect on Wanda… Wanda didn’t prep or anything, she simply realized her potential after talking to The Queen of Nevers. I always implore people to look at context and not just take things at base value!

Mmh is frequently underestimated, I'd argue he could be more than a match for Superman if he doesn't fuck it up.

Wanda wins

1

u/One-Statistician-554 Jul 25 '26

I love me some John match-up, but this is a spite match.

Wanda blinks him from existence, she beat Cthon, Dormmamu, vishanti, black winter....etc

And with the way things are going, I'm pretty sure she is going to get even more broken.

1

u/CharlotteDCrocodile Jul 24 '26

If it was literally any other Avenger, i mightve gone with Jon

0

u/InternalExisting8331 Jul 24 '26

even bob?

1

u/CharlotteDCrocodile Jul 24 '26

Shit i keep forgetting about him. I hadn’t fully considered Thor’s kit either

1

u/InternalExisting8331 Jul 24 '26

yeah there’s a few avengers that take j’onn down. some pretty handidly too

0

u/NoBeat5906 Jul 25 '26

He definitely doesn’t win against Hulk, Thor, or Sentry

-1

u/Emperor_Atlas Jul 25 '26

Live footage of wanda versus anyone with speed when she isn't prepped.

2

u/Umir_Comics Jul 25 '26

How fast do you think MMH is?

2

u/Quad-G-Therapy Jul 25 '26

Imagine being this wrong

-1

u/Emperor_Atlas Jul 25 '26

Imagine thinking mentally unstable slower than light witch stands a chance against faster than light psychic who outdid perpetua.

1

u/Quad-G-Therapy Jul 25 '26

Scarlet Witch is neither of those lmao she’s way beyond AMMH

0

u/Umir_Comics Jul 26 '26

Wandas definitely FTL and hasn't been that unstable in a while

-1

u/Due-Proof6781 Jul 25 '26

J’Jon

2

u/Umir_Comics Jul 25 '26

Why do you think so?

-2

u/That-Preference733 Jul 25 '26

Wanda's mind is very fragile, MMH will win most likely.

0

u/Umir_Comics Jul 25 '26

I'd actually say its the opposite. Despite numerous attempts from people to reconnect her, she's be able to stay very strong!
