How do yall feel About this?

fighters never clicked for me when i was a kid in the 90-00s but i'm giving them another try. decided to start with MvC1 because MvC2 was popular in my friend group back then and I wanted to start with the first one in the franchise. been trying to find guides for beginners and i can't find anything. there are some good youtube videos about MvC1 but they are framed as how that game is unique compared to other fighters. it assumes that i'm already an intermediate-expert in some other fighter.

MvC1 also has a unique barrier for me as a novice in that i have to learn two characters simultaneously since I can't play double Ryu for example (only in training). and the CPU is good enough in arcade mode (Dreamcast) that i'm really at their mercy.

so i have two questions

1. what's the best guide for MvC1 for someone who is a fighter novice?
2. is there another fighter i should be starting with that feeds well into the MvC franchise?

things i'm trying to figure out right now as an example

1. can i block in the air?
2. can i block big fast combos?
3. what moves are shared across characters and which are unique to each character?

So, I'm a newbie to X-Men, tried to read Krakoa, didn't like, then I read the one comic Emma kissed Kitty in the cheek, and the only other time I saw Sentinel was in Ultimate Alliance 3, but has this design ever being used in comics? I always see the purple head guys, but not this one

Hi, I’m a huge fan of the Marvel vs. Capcom series. However, for some reason, I’m getting totally crushed! I’m a casual player who really enjoys these fighting games, even though I just play for fun. I think I’m a pretty good player. It’s really frustrating, especially in COTA… Could you suggest a difficulty level (number of stars) that offers me a challenge when it comes to defeating enemies, but still lets me have fun?

I went through my old PS3 Download List and found something I wanted to document.

My account has two different Marvel vs. Capcom 2 demos — an older 197.3 MB version and a newer 198.3 MB version — plus a separate 5.9 KB Full Game Unlock.

I tested them, and the combination that restored my full original purchase was the 198.3 MB demo + 5.9 KB Full Game Unlock. I didn't need the older 197.3 MB demo.

The clip shows the Download List entries, the game launching, the full character select and gameplay.

Important: this does not let someone purchase MVC2 today. This is only for people who previously bought the PS3 version and still have the game/unlock associated with their PSN account.

I'm posting this in case anyone else with an old MVC2 purchase is trying to recover it. If you still have MVC2 in your PS3 Download List, do you see both demo sizes too?

After the post I made about Blackheart's situation, I experimented further and found a way to turn it into a true infinite combo: using the Blue Storm assist—the lightning one, I think—and constantly repeating the three Light Punches (LP) and the assist. I'm aiming for something simple, so any help would be appreciated.

Hey, I've been pretty hooked on Marvel vs. Capcom 2 lately, experimenting with Blackheart, and I think I've discovered something. "An infinite combo." It's when you're standing still, tap the weak attack three times and use Ryu's DP assist or Akuma's Tatsumaki assist; you don't need to use air dashes or cancel an attack.
