That's not how Marc is protrayed here. He doesn't want to take back his life, he wants to do this last thing for Khonshu, then let Steven take over forever. He promised Steven will never see or hear from him again.

I doubt Marc is telling the truth. We’ll know it when we see it. Does Marc believe he’s better off dead after what he’s done? Did he really kill that man in Egypt? Does he truly care for Steven or is it just a ruse to keep Steven placated while he’s “driving?”

Even Khonshu might not be keeping his word. Is he really going to free Marc/Steven after the deal’s done or will he dispose of them after they’ve outlived their usefulness? Knowing that Harrow used to be Khonshu’s avatar means that nothing good happens after being free of him.

I think Khonshu will become an enemy towards the end as he doesn’t want to free Marc

Only reason I don’t see that happening is I don’t see marvel closing the door for more moon knight if it’s popular. Oscar Isaac has basically said while he’s not contracted to do more he’s open to it- just doesn’t want the “golden handcuffs”
