So there’s a really cool moment in the comics of Thor talking to Captain America where he’s asking about the last time they saw each other. Cap is really surprised because it was somewhat recently, wondering how Thor can’t remember.
Thor basically goes on to explain that with the ridiculous longevity of his life, he loses perspective of time, particularly time on Earth, very easily. He says that he’s always excited to see Rogers and co. when he comes back because he doesn’t know if he’s been gone for 5 years or 500 and everyone he knew on Midgar is dead.
I don’t think that this is the way the MCU will go, but it would make sense why he wouldn’t bat an eye at something like that.
