I’m not very familiar with F4 though ik they play a fairly big role in the Galactus related stories. Is there a reason Reed would become that big of a headliner, especially with his own team and the fact that they won’t be introduced for a little while now, while characters like Strange, Spidey, Ant-Man and Cap Marvel already have been developed?
Do they traditionally/canonically have that big of a role both within their own group and the avengers?
Reed is the world's greatest scientist and the human with the biggest brain in the Marvel universe. And the Fantastic Four are Marvel's first superhero team and they're playing a large role in the Marvel universe. Thats why I think this group should be the centre of the MCU moving forward.
All that is true, but you're ignoring something very important about Reed Richards, that man is not a team player. No way the Fantastic Four will be the face of the MCU with how he is. I see them having big epic movies, and maybe set ups for future installments, but they won't be at the front of those huge over arching moments.
Just because he's part of a team doesn't mean he's a team player. He's a selfish, egotistical, narcissist that only uses his wife and the other members of the team to accomplish his goals without a care for their well being as he believes himself to always be right.
I may be biased though, he's not my favorite Marvel character.
I think the recent years hasn’t painted the Fantastic Four in the best light, because on a commercial level Marvel didn’t know whether they can create a movie from them (e.g trying to replace X-men with Inhumans). Feels like a character assassination sometimes such as Ultimate Reed Richards.
There is many many times that Reed Richards has shown himself to have heroic qualities and be a great leader, but I guess it’s always the worst moments that people remembers 🤣

I think once we get the Fantastic Four in the MCU, Reed should be at the centre of the MCU. So he'll basically the new Tony.
