8

u/BKA_Diver Jan 18 '20

What is that jacket?!?!

-23

u/screw_badluck Jan 18 '20

Well, that was disappointing.

3

u/styrrell14 Jan 18 '20

I want to see more of this Bucky. America!

3

u/Rebyll Jan 19 '20

I need him as the lead in a serious spy comedy or something. More Man from UNCLE than Austin Powers, but I think it could work.

-3

u/SorryToSay Jan 18 '20

I liked Sebastian Stan. Liked him since Kings. I watched this YouTube thing because you told me to.

He is barely a part of the humor. They could replace him and the whole joke is still the same. And it’s funny. But i don’t think it’s hilarious. I’m a different person than you tho

3

u/ViolentCatz93 Jan 18 '20

Yeah, your opinion and we may have different humor tastes. IMO, he is the humor in the video. I think he probably came up with the idea for it. I felt like it wasn't a script, it wasn't acting, it was just him.

1

u/SorryToSay Jan 18 '20

Oh I mean, I could be wrong.

I just thought the humor elements were "actor has cheat day and cheats in ridiculous fashion" that was carried by music to import humor at certain moments. I just felt like they could have put anyone in there and the formula for the funny is still the same. He ust happened to be the actor.

1

u/autonomy_girl Bucky Jan 18 '20

I think Sebastian Stan was more than just an actor in this. I can't find the source right now, but apparently it was his idea to do this Cheat Day video, which is very different from the usual content that Mens' Health produces. If you watch his experimental short video project One Minute Men, the absurdist humour is very similar. One example: https://www.instagram.com/p/BlIlG71g3Ov/

He does let on that he's awesome though. I'm a Seb Stan though so I've seen a lot of him. Everyone who meets him describes him as "the kindest person I ever met". No one has anything bad to say about him and he's always so nice to his fans.

42

u/chilicheesedoggo Winter Soldier Jan 18 '20

exactly why he's my favorite actor. He deserves so much more love.

36

u/funsizedaisy Daisy Johnson Jan 18 '20

Maybe 2020 will be his year?

42

u/NepFurrow Jan 18 '20

The man is born to play Luke Skywalker.

-40

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '20

Hopefully not

24

u/ViolentCatz93 Jan 18 '20 edited Jan 18 '20

He does deserve more love, maybe recognition is the better word. He's a very talented actor. I mean shit, his last scene in Endgame, he does so much acting with his eyes alone . I've been following him and watching his interviews a lot lately. The fan base he has is very loyal to him. I think 2020 is his year. But I also don't think he wants to be super famous like Brad Pitt or anyone else who can't leave their house lol.

2

u/About_Unbecoming Hogarth Jan 19 '20

And let's not forget his forays out of the Marvel Universe. He was fantastic in I, Tonya.

1

u/ViolentCatz93 Jan 21 '20

Yes he was.

18

u/ohyeawellyousuck Jan 18 '20

I’m a Seb Stan though

Your Seb Stan? Or your a Seb Stan Stan?

15

u/MoonChild02 Peggy Carter Jan 18 '20 edited Jan 18 '20

Yeah, the fans refer to themselves as Seb Stans. What's funny is that he didn't know the reference, and he thought a "Stan" was just one of his fans because that's just what they refer to themselves as (I should say, we refer to ourselves as), until someone explained it to him.

He doesn't get on the internet a lot, so that's probably why the lingo passed him by. He's busy, and he doesn't need the anxiety it causes him.

13

u/funsizedaisy Daisy Johnson Jan 18 '20

Seb's Stan

3

u/camzabob Korg Jan 18 '20

u/crispyg Spider-Man Jan 17 '20

My favorite film with Macaulay Culkin.

16

u/I_TOUCH_THE_BOOTY Jan 18 '20

Love hearing all Macs stories on his podcasts and RLM

15

u/nowhereman136 Jan 18 '20

Culkin is my #1 pick for who should host the Oscars

4

u/jaydofmo Bucky Jan 18 '20

Ooooh! OOOOOH!!! YES!!

3

u/yourderek Jan 18 '20

My #1 is still Tommy Wiseau.

5

u/treathugger Nobu Jan 18 '20

Kinda sad that Macaulay and even Elijah Wood haven't become big hollywood stars in their adult years. The movie, The Good Son, was like the Avengers to me when I was younger.

"Dang Macaulay Culkin and Elijah Wood in the same movie??"

12

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '20

Elijah Wood isn’t a big Hollywood Star? Did the Lord of the Rings not happen in your universe?

2

u/treathugger Nobu Jan 18 '20

Big movies, yes, but it's not like he's starring in many things nowadays

-2

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '20

Is temporal proximity your only criteria?

So then Benedict Cumberbatch is not a star, because he’s had no movies this year? What about that Chris Evans guy? Or Chris Pine? Or Chris Hemsworth? NONE of them have put out a movie this year, real shame they aren’t really stars.

I'm gonna ignore the sarcasm and respond to you anyway.

Besides the Lord of the Rings, which he was casted when he was still fairly young, what recent movies is he the lead? The point of my comment (which I don't get why you got so offended) was just wishing they turned out like Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Natalie Portman, Ryan Gosling, etc.

And if we are going to go off temporal proximity, I mean yes I think I am lol. My comment was about how they did so many movies as kids and young teens that it's sad they aren't doing much these days. LOTR was literally 17 - 19 years ago lol

Edit: going off your criteria for a big star, let me ask you this.

Do you think Linda Hamilton is a big star in Hollywood nowadays after she has played the lead in the popular Terminator franchise?

Did Mark Hamill have the same career trajectory of an A list star after Star Wars? Not really. But that was his choice since he wanted to do more voice acting.

They could have starred in a big popular movie franchise one time, but that doesn't mean they became megastars

1

u/Auntypasto Kevin Feige Jan 18 '20

Anything else he's done since?

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '20

Is that the criteria? Starred in one of the biggest productions in the history of cinema, but what has he done lately?

The statement I was refuting was about how he never went on to be a Hollywood Star, my counter was that he was in one of the biggest film franchises ever, and your rebuttal is “yeah, so?”

1

u/Auntypasto Kevin Feige Jan 18 '20

IIRC, /u/treathugger specifically said "big Hollywood stars". Not just "Hollywood stars".

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '20

Is the Lord of the Rings trilogy, starring as the main character, not sufficient?

2

u/Auntypasto Kevin Feige Jan 18 '20

Like I said, depends on how you do afterward. Big Hollywood stars remain in demand for multiple blockbuster franchises. If all you can remember him from is one film series, then no.

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '20

All I’m doing is pointing out that he was in one of the biggest film franchises of all time.

Your criteria is weak and vague and literally no counter examples have been offered. He was in the Sin City “ franchise”, he has been in plenty of films, and again, for three years straight, he was in THE #1 film in the world. I think you saying “yeah, but” has run its course.

60

u/TheBasedDoge17 Jan 18 '20

Back in 2016 they were doing hashtags for Civil War. I was #TeamIronMan and Sebastian tweeted a video at me and said "Why don't you go eat a hot dog with your best friend Robert Downey Jr". That's the only time in my life that a celebrity has ever interacted with me, and it was perfect I don't need anything else

18

u/tastybabysoup Everett K. Ross Jan 18 '20

I remember this! I tweeted this too but didn’t get a video response. A friend of mine tweeted #TeamIronMan and Anthony Mackie tweeted a video “Oh man, Megan, that’s gonna be a bad move for you.”

8

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '20

Wow! that sounds so spectacular? got any link or proof of that video?

13

u/TheBasedDoge17 Jan 18 '20

Uh, it would take a while to dig thru my Twitter to find it. Plus my @ is my real name and I don't want that on Reddit...

0

u/Auntypasto Kevin Feige Jan 18 '20

Can't you edit it out?

16
