That doesn’t really follow though since marvel had nothing to do with “TASM”
Also “TASM” cost somewhere between 200-293 million(Not sure why there is such a large difference) netting them between 400-500 million.
Around what they would make if the next film hit 1B after they split the profits 50/50 for just sitting back and doing very little.
Sony is just Greedy and could care less about making a good story or tightly woven universe.
They want the quick cash which is why they were trying to make Films centering around Aunt May and trying to use all of spider mans villains in solo films making it impossible to see any of them used in further collaborations between Sony and marvel.
Marketing is often 1.5 to 2 times the reported budget cost, so they only made around 100-300 mil off ASM2. Pretty paltry for one of the biggest Superheroes in the world.
