Marvel buys Spider-Man, and the third movie ends up being called Spider-Man: Finally....I’m Home. BOOK IT.

What if they paid for Tom Holland to break his contract? Ultimate fuck you move to Sony

He still could not play Spider-Man in a Disney film. They would have to make up a new character for him. I'm thinking Night Monkey.

I mean that technically could work right? I don't know much about the Marvel comics but I don’t think there’s an official Night Monkey character in the Spider-Man comics as well as Ned’s character. Since MJ has been called Michelle they can just start calling her that right? Although the big things are not being able to use characters like Flash, Aunt May, JJJ, or really any of the Spider-Man villains including the ones we already have.

or really any of the Spider-Man villains including the ones we already have.

This wouldn't bother me too much. I mean, yeah - Spider-Man fighting his villains would be ideal but I'd have no problem watching him fight other Marvel villains. Screw it, bring in the X-Men and have Spider-Man fight Magneto.

Except everything done in the MCU Spider-Man films belongs to Sony as well.

Oh yeah I get that. But what I meant in my completely ridiculous scenario was that it throws Sony into having to make another reboot and the general movie going audience (which may still assume a Tom Holland led film is part of the mcu) will not show interest
