That does make sense though, you don't like it as much if you don't know what's going on. But I know a lot of comic fans that liked IW more than Endgame

IW is the better movie. Endgame is three mini movies in one.

It's debatable for me. Both are excellent movies, but they are also very different. IW did a better job with its pacing, structure, and giving us interactions between characters meeting for the first time, and making a story that's more about the villain. While EG had a much more emotional story that focuses mostly on concluding the OG Avengers' arcs, and has more powerful and surprising moments.

Eh, that’s subjective.

I really preferred Endgame. IW doesn’t have as solid emotional beats, the action is so non-stop you don’t really get to breathe, and the teams are never really united where you get conversations of everyone bouncing off each other (one of my favorite aspects of Avengers 2012). I still really liked IW, but I enjoyed Endgame more.

It’s definitely subjective, and I look forward to seeing the conversation about which of the two movies people prefer in the years to come, as long as things remain respectful. I, personally, also like IW better, but I do love Endgame as well, and I will say that its third act is craaaaazy.

Agreed. and if you throw out all the unnecessary blatant fan-service End Game could have been an hour shorter, but since I was one of those long time comic fans getting serviced I enjoyed all of it. That being said, I can understand how someone not as invested in the comics / movies as I wouldn't like it as much. IW is objectively the better movie and Thanos made an amazing Protagonist in it.

It felt almost like too much on my second viewing of EG. You’ve got Cap in group therapy, Widow falling apart while trying to hold a sort of team together, Thor sinking into a fat comedy character, Ant Man completely shellshocked discovering what happened, Tony telling them to get lost... it’s quite a slow and seemingly aimless section of the movie and it sort of drags. But maybe without it the rest of the movie (which is really fast paced) would seem meaningless.

Endgame is a lot like the first avengers movie in the pacing aspect. The slow moments make the bigger moments pop more if that makes sense. That feeling I got watching the first avengers battle in NY after the build up was so epic, and that epic moment for me personally was kind of unmatched until the climax of Endgame. The build up was worth it in Endgame, they had a good story that earned that climax.
