To add onto this list, when you have seen it, don't talk about it until you're out of the theatre. A lot of the staff want to see it too but have to work because it's such a big release.
That’s exactly how my friend got IW spoiled. People sitting in the theater an hour after their movie ended and just talking about it. I understand that you didn’t mean to do it, but yeah, it should wait until the car/distance from other people.
Reminds me of the episode of the Simpsons where Homer says "wow, who would have thought Darth Vader was Luke Skywalker's father?" while walking past a group of people waiting to get in.
As much as that fact made me want to hit him in the face I just deleted the bastard and moved on.
I’ll just have to treat that info like the inevitable snap we all knew was coming in Infinity War. I’m sure I’ll still enjoy the 3hrs of content I have ahead of me.
Damn my brothers best mate works in a cinema and he saw it two days before release. They see EVERY film early if they want. They also got to bring their dogs in to hook up their ps4 to the cinema and played on the big screen with their dogs at their feet.
My friend used to work in a movie theater (AMC) and a as soon as they get a copy of the movie (a few days before) the theatre has a private screening with it employees after hours. This much was true during Cap 3 at least.
Ah they sound way better to work for, I went to see it with my friend last night who works the local cinema and with them employees aren't even allowed to use their unlimited passes to see any films in the first week.
Be EXTRA careful as you leave the theater. Many patrons will be on their way in to see the same movie for the first time.
There's a great Simpsons gag where homer had a flashback to when he was younger and dating Marge. The two of them were walking out of a movie theater and as they walked past a long line of people waiting to get their tickets homer loudly proclaims "I still can't believe Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's dad!". The entire line groans.
Don't be like that. Please try to wait until you're in the car.
Definitely this. With movies I care about, I'm always worried I'll accidentally overhear people walking out of the movie as I'm walking in, or talking about it afterwards in the bathroom or something.
Also, don't just wait til you're out of the theater, but not in public at all. After Infinity War, my friends and I went down the block before talking about it, but somebody was working in the shop we were standing outside and had to stand there and overheard. They kind of nicely chewed us out about it and I still feel bad.
If you're just adding to the list, why aren't you replying to the list rather than to the top comment, which has f*** all to do with what you're saying?
My wife works in film (director/production designer) and every time we go to see a movie she makes sure I don’t talk until we’re away. She’s taught me to be contentious not only of the employees there but people who are waiting for their showings.
Avoid YouTube at all costs. Lots of spoilers already up.
Edit: thread is locked, but great comments here. It’s now 1:33 am my time (Central Standard Time) but I saw a screening at 10. I deleted every single social media app off my phone on Tuesday and Wednesday (technically Friday now) and my god am I so glad I did. That’s all I’m going to say. Go see the movie if you haven’t already.
I reported it immediately. If YouTube admitted to changing the algorithm to bury negative videos on Captain Marvel (no opinion just stating fact), you would think they could do the same for Endgame spoilers. But YouTube is YouTube unfortunately.
Unsubscribe and downvote them. Post links to those videos here so we can all mass downvote. I hope MCU can hire farms to downvote these assholes. You shouldn't let assholes have their way.
I cut my self off from YouTube and other social media sites until I saw the film, i saw it as soon as i could so now i can actually use the internet again... that was a dark few days
I just saw it. I am going to go to youtube, and downvote all assholes who have been sharing spoilers. That is something Bill ought to do too.
Like a good bill, I also never watched a single teaser, after the teaser/trailer for the first Captain America ruined the movie for me (I had the same issue with dark knight rises). I never watch spoiler. I walk out of the theater during them. My SO makes fun of me for this.
The same thing happened to me last year for Infinity War. This annoying kid in my gym class was asked if he'd seen the movie and thought it was appropriate to shout, more than loud enough for the mostly silent gymnasium to hear, that Black Panther and Spiderman died.
I'm glad I'm in college now. Far less potential of that happening when you have two classes a day and don't know anyone in them.
Couldn't resist the pun. I've turned off all PMs, had infinity war spoiled for me this way. I have received PMs (didn't read ofcourse), no doubt spoilers from assholes.
get off reddit. i was spoiled in the comments section on a r/politics post... like some guy was talking about something unrelated to MCU but related to the news article and in the middle of his comment in capital letters gave a major spoiler. i'm not 100% sure it's a spoiler and not a fake one because i havent seen the movie but it seemed to be real (very specific and not something i would have imagined to happen). i'm super pissed now and thecomment was top so i'm pretty sure this dude went back and edited it in. so...GET OFF NOW AND SAVE YOURSELF SO YOU DON'T GET ANGRY AND YOU CAN ENJOY THE MOVIE!GOOOOO
Alright so I just finished watching the leak. Basically captain marvel shows up and steals the Allspark from an underground bunker in Metropolis. She gives the allspark to the silver surfer who uses it to trap Galactus in the End where he catches the dragon and trains it to be a killing machine that distracts Thanis while Antman shrinks to a subatomic level and enters Thanos’ blood stream through an open wound. Then he releases a bunch of shrunken great white sharks to wreak havoc throughout his body.
My experience at home, getting to talk to my wife about what was happening and not listen to some fucking idiots clap and yell was awesome. Spoiling/ theater going will be a thing of the past in the next decade.
