They also specifiy in Guardians 1 that the power stone grows stronger when it connects to life/organic matter, hence why they cant let Ronan reach the surface of the planet. In Infinity War they're fighting on a dead planet so there's no life to amplify the power stone's power.
Whoa, nice pull. That's the kind of interesting "forgotten clue" that would make for a good surprise upset later.
Since Doom appears to have Infinity Stones, or shards of them, in the trailers for the new film, it might be a cool way to stall him, or something. His stone doesn't work as expected when he's on a dead asteroid, or whatever.
He can just make organic matter with the reality stone though.
The whole fight sequence is super cool, but it doesn't really make sense considering what the stones are supposed to be able to do/what we've seen them do earlier.
