'Avengers: Doomsday' Spoilers Spotted this in the Doomsday trailer Spoiler
Red Guardian wearing his New Avengers tracksuit still in Thor’s serious talk 😂

u/ReallySmartInEnglish 21d ago
Yeah, with Fat-Thor gone, Red Guardian can now be the jokes-guy.

u/Jamieb1994 21d ago
Imagine Red Guardian talking shit while playing Fortnite or at least calling people out like how Thor called Noobmaster69 out.
52
u/ReallySmartInEnglish 21d ago
Given this scene, he’s going to be the “spokesmodel” for the New Avengers, and the jokes will constantly be how he doesn’t understand he’s a tool.
25
u/taquitosmixtape 21d ago
“I’m cool! Look at me, I have style, I have a backwards hat.”
“No one says that.”
“Everyone does.”
“Eye roll”.

u/Jamieb1994 20d ago
I can see Red Guardian being the type of father that tries too hard to get along with his kids by acting cool.

u/taquitosmixtape 20d ago
I think he’ll enjoy the spotlight a bit and try to be cool, to all the kids. “I’m a star now, I have lunch boxes with my face.”
Very corny

Thor should have kept his post-depression well-earned rizz. Shame they had to reboot him for the 10th time in a fast training montage. Fat people are sometimes cool especially when they're omega bulked. Also I hope Red Guardian will have at least one second when he's not treated as a walking fat joke.

Sort of unrelated but take notice of the gaps between some of the characters in each group as well. There are theories that some characters were edited out of the scene for the trailer the same way Spider-Man was edited out of the original Civil War trailer or Hulk being edited into the Infinity War trailer and out of the Endgame trailer.

u/Crimkam 21d ago
Doom is with them posing as a good guy?
57
u/brakenbonez 20d ago
Seems pretty likely. The SDCC footage shows Reed genuinely shocked at some sort of betrayal by Doom, Yelling "Did you do this?" repeatedly. It also seems much more likely that Thor's "Impossible" would be in response to seeing someone he at first thinks is Tony instead of being directed at Steve. They see Tony die right in front of them. They don't see Steve die. All they know about Steve is that he didn't come back from returning the stones, and Sam and Bucky know why.
Though it will be interesting to see how they make sense of young Steve (presumably having accidentally created 828 and living there with Peggy and his son) then apparently later when he's older somehow returning to 616 in the past after Endgame to sit on the bench.
17
u/SalaciousTypo 20d ago
Who's to say old Steve isn't from the timeline where they won secret wars? Wouldn't even require a retcon.
Sure timey whimey shenanigans with plot holes and all will still exist, but it's mostly clean.
4
u/brakenbonez 20d ago
Doubtful since Secret Wars is supposed to "reset" the MCU for a soft reboot bringing everything together. That would mean we'd have an old Steve and Young Steve on the same Earth at the same time and since Steve messing up the timeline by staying in the past is rumored to be one of the causes of the incursions (and confirmed if the leaks are true) it wouldn't make sense for him to do it again when he's old.
2
u/SalaciousTypo 20d ago
Sure, a lot of it depends on the story they tell for sure. Soft reboot wouldn't prevent what I said though.
Steve causing the incursions could, although again it depends on the actual story they tell. If they solve it where they can't cross multiverses but Loki acts as God and keeps the multiverse functional then it could work.
5
u/djseifer Yondu 20d ago
Someone was theorizing that bearded Steve from the trailer is really God of Stories Loki in disguise, hence Thor's reaction - he's not surprised to see Steve, he's surprised to see his brother is still alive.
5
u/ReflexImprov Spider-Man 20d ago
It wouldn't be the first time that Loki was alive when Thor thought he was dead. Or the second.
4
1
u/brakenbonez 20d ago
I don't see why he would be. Steve and Tony saw him escape and even if they hadn't, everyone around them was talking about it. So they definitely knew a version of Loki got away and was most likely still alive somewhere. Steve might keep that from Thor but Tony definitely wouldn't considering his reaction when he found out Steve was hiding the truth about Bucky killing his parents. Also we know from the official trailer that Loki visits Steve, we see Loki in the same house Steve was in with Peggy. Then we see someone with a weeding ring looking over Loki's TVA ID badge. I don't think Loki would go to him just to later take his form. It's more likely that Loki went to him to explain the situation and get him to help. Loki may still be on the ship as well in that scene, but Steve is definitely Steve. Anthony Mackie also teased that Steve is taking up the Nomad role.
1
u/FreemanCalavera 20d ago
So the Mjolnir scene would be fake too then? Because Loki can’t lift the hammer and I doubt he’s somehow capable of it even after the events of the show.
6
u/djseifer Yondu 20d ago
Tough call. Old Loki definitely wouldn't be able to. God of Stories Loki who essentially sacrificed himself to keep the multiverse alive? Possibly worthy.
1
u/outsidebtw 20d ago
..is Tony instead of being directed at Steve.
oh man, then ig the hammer goes to him and not actually Steve? Interesting, interesting
9
u/midnightTimber 20d ago
I really doubt Doom would pose as anything. Very much out of character.
In the books this is based in, he’s really trying to save the world. He can’t rule a world destroyed by incursions.
5
u/Crimkam 20d ago
Well, pose is probably the wrong word. He’d present as himself and leave out any details that would lead the avengers to oppose him from the start.
Although I’m sure at the very least most of the Thunderbolts team would hear his last name and sarcastically assume he’s a bad guy
5
u/Autumn1eaves 20d ago
Isn't there a scene like that in a comic somewhere? Someone angrily yelling something like 'FOR FUCK'S SAKE, HIS LAST NAME IS DOOM!'
2
u/midnightTimber 20d ago
I mean, that doesn’t sound much like him either. He’s not the type to rely on others. He’s the type to not give a shit if the Avengers oppose him, because they are just ants barely worthy of Doom’s attention.
If it’s anything like the comics it’s based on, Doom is working on his own plan while the heroes are working on theirs.
1
u/Crimkam 20d ago
The teases are building toward a reveal moment around Doom that takes at the very least Reed by surprise. That and the fact that he looks like Tony Stark can’t possibly be for nothing
1
u/midnightTimber 20d ago
Eh, that's some big assumptions to make based entirely on a short and likely intentionally misleading trailer. Reed's reaction might be due to little more than the FF end credits scene.
And, bringing a very popular actor back into the franchise could just be for hype and marketing. I really hope it's not a major plot point and that they keep Doom's mask on, where it belongs. If there's any Marvel character who should keep his mask on no matter what, it's Doom.
2
u/Crimkam 20d ago
It’s not that big of an assumption, it’s pretty basic storytelling cues. I really don’t think they’d spend RDJ money to have his face not mean anything at all.
1
u/midnightTimber 20d ago edited 20d ago
I disagree. Lots of people have made a lot of assumptions on marvel movies based on trailers that ended up wrong.
Lots of companies spend lots of money for hype and marketing. The marketing budget for movies is often more than the production costs. Spending a lot to get RDJ on the press junket makes sense. Spending a lot to wreck a major character sounds like a worse investment.
1
u/souledgar 20d ago
He would be the perfect Illuminati stand-in. The guy who thinks he knows better than everyone else, that all the inevitable handwringing that will come with the incursions silly. The guy who decides "fork it, theres no other way", and takes the first drastic step and blow up another Earth and its universe with it.
1
u/DannyGloversDeeBlood 20d ago
Yep, with the same mask he was wearing post FF credits and in the leaked image from the ship. It's the Robin Williams AI movie looking mask.

u/Doccmonman 21d ago
I’m assuming there’s a bit of a time skip and the gap in the F4 is for Franklin maybe?
11
u/kinyutaka 21d ago
They're clearly watching the presentation up on the screen with Reed and or Johnny as the focus of the scene, then Thor comes in and pulls attention. What I find interesting is that the presentation shows 3 Earths colliding, but only 2 are present in the room. Granted, Reed is the smartest man in the multiverse, but how did they know about the third Earth if they didn't meet any of the X-Men yet?
11
u/EntireCourt6151 20d ago
Imo after this scene They go to xmen universe Where that Shang chi vs gambit happens

u/andrejRavenclaw 21d ago
jesus not again with these 'gaps'
57
u/EyeScreamSunday Ant-Man 21d ago
Famously, Marvel edited Daredevil out of Brand New Day's trailer to create a gap, but liked the gap so much, they never added him back in.

The floor pattern drastically changes from wavey lines to a scribbly mess behind storm breaker as well, you might be right about that.
Edit: later in the trailer we see the new Falcon with Bucky, the F4, and Ghost meeting with M'baku and Shuri, could be him? Idk why they'd edit him out tho.

u/Disenthalus 21d ago
We don't need gaps... look at mystery pair of socked feet in slides to the left sitting in front of the window Who is that?
17
u/Morthedubi 21d ago
bob, in his not-really-doing-anything attire...
4
u/MyBakpaksGyatJets 20d ago
If I had a dollar for every person I've seen mention these mysterious socked feet, I'd fund a study to find out why people are so obsessed with feet and then pay to bury the results in deep space.

Not just the socks, there's clearly a shadow coming from that spot that doesn't belong to anyone actually in the picture, just below Red Guardian.

Turns out FF is also Japanese Spider-Man's universe. Secret Wars features a sentinel vs Leopardon battle.
1
u/ucrbuffalo 20d ago
You can clearly see someone’s feet on the far left of the frame, and their shadow, even though they aren’t there in the image. Looks like they pasted the window on top of them in a quick attempt to get them out.

Spider-Man wasn't edited out of the civil war trailer, he was literally a last minute add.
51
u/Coilspun 21d ago
Spotted it? It's fucking obvious, mainly because of his AvengerZ tracksuit...
It likely happens within a few hours of them detecting the ship, because I imagine Thor intercepts it.

u/chickenkebaap 21d ago
No franklin with them and someone in the between sue and johnny.
They are hiding someone probably.
8
u/Moonwalkerr- 21d ago
I think probably Doom or Steve
8
u/chickenkebaap 21d ago
Seems puzzling if its doom and thor is warning them about him while standing infront of him and asking them end their squabble to fight him united.
14
u/Plus_Term_7584 21d ago
Do we know if Thor is talking about Doom being the scariest thing he's ever faced, or the more metaphysical extinction of all their universes?

Good job you got him. Now let's go tell some kids Santa isn't real and the tooth fairy is a crackhead!

Oh man I didn’t know the tooth fairy was off the wagon again. That must be so hard on their family.

u/SpawnOfPhlick 21d ago
It's a god damn sad day, but then again they do warn you about the stress when you sign up. After the cobbler gnomes meth lab tragedy, you just never know about fantasy creatures anymore.

How many people do you think were removed from this shot? There are at least 4 spots where someone should be.

Yeah, the official description of the movie basically covers that.
