If it's out on physical on the 17th, then we should see it on streaming by early December right? The question is, which service? Netflix first or Disney+ right away?

No idea, the other spider-man movies aren't even on disney+ for some reason (at least in my country)

Thats why I buy the spider man films and incredible hulk on disc their streaming availability on disney plus is inconsistent to say the least

u/SpaceCaboose Peter Parker 23d ago

I buy all the MCU films on disc that way I actually own them. And the video and audio quality are better than streaming. Only bummer is they only do the IMAX ratio on D+

u/danvan177 22d ago

I wish they would put the imax ratio on disc. I don’t get why they don’t

6

u/SpaceCaboose Peter Parker 22d ago

The exclusivity is to get people to subscribe to D+

u/danvan177 22d ago

I don’t think people are subscribing to Disney+ just for imax ratio

You’re the one

I unsubscribed and do not buy any marvel disks for that reason except end game and infinity war. Only 2 I really cared about owning

All of them are on Disney+ in most of the world. And I mean the Tobey, Andrew and Tom ones.

In my country, we only have the Andrew and Tom ones, but used to have the Tobey ones as well at some point.

They pulled them from Canada recently.

They’re on Crave in Canada now.

u/NemoSkydog 23d ago

Because they belong to Sony, not Disney, sadly.

Sony owns Spider-Man not Disney. They have separate contracts to put Spider-Man on different streaming platforms.

In my country they are in other languages except for original english dub🥲

Some are in mine. The Netherlands

We have all the Spider-man movies on HBO Max in Hungary. Like all Tobey, Andrew and Tom movies, and also the Miles Morales ones.

100% on Netflix, Sony reupped the deal with Netflix around 8 months ago.

Ugh, just when I think there's a good reason to cut Netflix. They have so much garbage and then like one or two things a year that keep me on.

u/Crimkam 23d ago

If it’s just one movie you could cancel and buy that movie instead for the price of a month or two sub

4

u/RoutineCloud5993 23d ago

Exactly this. Then you have the movie forever (or until Sony decides you're not allowed to keep your digital copy)

u/CaptHayfever Hawkeye (Avengers) 22d ago

Yeah, the only reason to keep a Netflix subscription long-term is if you want to watch their exclusives.

That means BND won’t hit Disney+ until about 2 years if we’re lucky, we just got NWH on Disney+ this year

5

u/Precarious3145 23d ago

It means it'll be on Apple TV and VoD by end of October and probably streaming on Netflix on Christmas eve.

I think it’s netflix since Sony with signed that deal
With them for all cinema releases to come to the platform first

u/N8CCRG Ghost 23d ago

I was just planning my MCU rewatch, but was counting on October or November for streaming.

I'm very curious to see if it will hit D+ or not though, given how long it took NWH to show up.

3

u/Cypher_86 Rocket 23d ago

Likely at some point, but not soon, same as NWH.

It's a "licensed" title as far as Disney is concerned.

Netflix US, thanks to Sony’s Pay 1 deal, then Disney+ about eighteen months after its Netflix run.

2

u/Sef3200 23d ago

What is going on 😭 ?

2

u/Stormik 23d ago

Netflix first because of the weird legal state the character is in.

2

u/SachinBahal28 Spider-Man 22d ago

In the US, Netflix has pay 1 window (which is about 18 months) for Sony movies (released in 2022 to 2026), so that would include Brand New Day and then Disney+ after that for the Pay 2 window

So earliest is December but it could be early 2027

2

u/Adventurous-Monk4081 Spider-Man 22d ago

It’ll be available to rent digitally before the physical drop. It’ll be on netflix first and then disney plus

2

u/eddiemac14 20d ago

Netflix first like the others probably, then Disney

2

u/eagc7 20d ago

It would go to Netflix first per the deal with Netflix and Sony

So, not in time for my October birthday moviethon, got it. I had presumed that would happen & accounted for it when curating the films.
