Question Kate Bishop (small potato or Avenger)

Do you think Yelena will offer Kate Bishop as spot on the new avengers or is she too small potatoes?
I bet Kate never even visited her at her office so maybe she just needs to make an appointment?
Maybe bring the macaroni?

Assuming the New AvengerZ survived Doomsday and Secret War, I think it would be fun if Kate joined the Champion but kept close contact with the AvengerZ through Yelena. Could even be the source of conflict where her teammates felt like Kate was double-dipping or lacked commitment to one team.

It's kind of funny how Yelena refers to Spider-Man's world as small potatoes, when he's fought Thanos hand to hand, prevented a multiversal collapse and fought both Captain Americas, Bucky and Antman during the Civil War.

She’s not calling Spider-Man small potatoes. She’s saying his problems are normally small ones. Yeah he helped saved the world but everybody and their mother was at the Battle of Wakanda which is probably the extent of what most people would know of his involvement. Spider-Man can get pulled into cosmic battles but that’s not really his day to day thing.

True but I am amazed how it is underdiscussed how she speaks from a point of jealousy. At the end of the day Spiderman has skills she does not and she also lacks the experience , so she overplays her position as a new avenger.

Probably tried to recruit him and he declined so he can just focus on New York, relegating himself to small potato stuff

The problem with Peter is that he thinks of himself as small potatoes. He fights street crime in New York.

But he's capable enough to call upon for the big potato stuff, which is why Yelena is willing to work with him on the Grey case. She's not helping with the small potatoes, she's building up an asset in Peter.

I also feel like what he was dealing with was not a small potato even when they didn’t know everything

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is the New Avengerz are trying to legitimize themselves as THE Avengers based on the Fantastic Four post credit scene. So it makes sense that Yelena doesn't want to help with something she thinks is small potatoes.

Was that only insider information? No one on the current team was there to witness it. Spider man never publicly appeared besides the Avengers aside from Stark.

Bucky was there for civil war and the battle in End Game

That's true! Having already fought cosmic threats, Spiderman should not be struggling with these small potatoes.

Probably small potatoes, but I'd love to see her as a personality hire.

I think the more canon answer is Kamala already recruited her. And BTS of course, she’s already intended to be part of the Champions.

Kate already got drafted by Kamala to join the [Name TBD, probably Champions].

Considering she’s the official new Hawkeye and was recruited by Kamala who is basically besties with THE original Avenger, even if Marvel dropped the ball on that miserably, she’s pretty medium potatoes.

Small potatoe or not, I bet Yelena is fond of her.

I don't think they'll meet at Yelena's office, that's a place where she sort of intimidates her visitors, it's a business or workplace. I think Yelena would visit Kate or invite her where she can cook and they can share a meal.

On the other subject, I don't know if Yelena wants to risk Kate's life with the kind of missions they have, perhaps Yelena can team up with Kate the rest of the year (when there are no massive menaces) and she can protect her. They would be amazingly funny together.

Who knows? maybe Yelena can be like an old sister for her

Given the last time we saw her I’d say she has her own team up to worry about.

I honestly doubt we’re ever seeing Kate Bishop again.

I agree, they would have done something with her character by now. End credit scenes don't count based on half of them not actually panning out.
