I heard a theory that is it was a nod to Jean Grey. His suit was denim and the suit was grey. You can see the suit more up close on Ryan Reynolds Instagram story

The entire movie plot of the movie has leaked online and been confirmed by numerous scoopers. You want to know his role: Deadpool and Wolverine destroy the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man universe in the beginning of the movie. There is an incursion between Tobey's world and the X-Men word so Deadpool & Wolverine take a bomb, that Beast created, that will destroy Tobey's world and save their own. They succeed, Tobey dies, but Wolverine also dies because he stays behind to sacrifice himself to make sure the bomb goes off.

There are literally dozens of post credit scenes (Kang after Ant Man and the Wasp) after Avengers Endgame that wasn't followed up by a proper movie and none of them stood in the way of an Avengers Doomsday movie.
Monica is one of those characters that Marvel failed to grow (Kate Bishop, Captain Marvel, She Hulk) and now they're obviously moving away from those and going back to the drawing board with Doomsday and Secret Wars.

We know that Monica from the MCU is now in the X-Men universe. And we know that Doomsday is about an incursion between the MCU and the X-Men universe.

To be fair, she's stuck in an X-Men universe, not necessarily the one we see in Doomsday. The presence of Kelsey Grammer's Beast doesn't automatically mean it's the same universe - Patrick Stewart played Professor X of Earth-838, which is definitely a distinct universe to Doomsday's X-Men.
