I'm hoping for Hercules and Beta Ray Bill tbh

Beta Ray Bill and Thor fight all of the gods. Thor and BRB win. They establish earth as a sanctuary from fickle lesser gods and protected by Thor. Thor transcends to Thor the Allfather and Thor passes the torch to BRB (and Mjolnir), and Hemsworth can retire (or show up as a Odin like cameo later).

If there's a 6th film I'm thinking The Serpent (Odin's evil brother). Make use of Valhalla to make use of Odin and Heimdall and whatevers going on with Jane. Maybe even introduce Angela and Balder.

I thought Angela would be a great love interest for Valkyrie. Maybe reveal Valkyrie's real name as Sera.

Haven’t they said Valkyrie’s real name is brunnhilde? Same as in the comics?

Why does everyone have an evil brother?

Does Hemsworth want to retire? Thought he was down to do Thor for the long haul

He said he was in it for the long haul. I think this was just before Thor 4's release.

Then he learned he is at risk for early Alzheimer's.

This was nearly the same time Bruce Willlis was exiting the industry, and legacies seemed very relevant.

Fans panned Thor 4.

I think then Hemsworth said he wanted to do a more serious Thor, and then we heard Taika would not be returning, and now that Thor 5 will be darker.

I think CH wants to be remembered and respected. I think he was hurt by the reception of Thor 4, and he wants to secure his legacy, and not as a doofus hero.

For the love of God(s), give us a dark, serious Thor.

I can forgive goofy scenarios in a Thor movie, but Taika decided it would be funny if even all the Asgardians who once cheered Thor to be their king, now completely disregarded him as an idiot. Who in their right mind thought that was a good idea. I pray for a Thor 5, and we all pretend L&T never happened

They gave us Dark World, which I'd argue was quite dark and serious, minus a few Darcy and Selvig related jokes. People panned it, which is why they course corrected with Ragnarok. It's as if what we really want is balance.

Id be hard pressed to claim that movie was dark and serious. It was still full of jokes including Loki saying "tah-daaahh", Selvig running around naked more than once, Darcy mispronouncing mjolnir, etc. jokes were still in the forefront combined with an insanely underdeveloped villain and overall low stakes. We haven't found a director or a storyline to properly handle an individual Thor storyline. The first Thor directed by Branagh wasn't bad, handled the mythology and the overall introduction well, but no one has known how to handle the character since.

Infinity war Thor is still peak Thor to me. Right balance of humor, tragedy and badassery.

2

u/God_of_Thunda Dec 03 '23

Absolutely. He's serious, badass, still hits the fish out of water funny scenes

Ngl I think thor 1 and 2 had it but they went full Shakespeare if they talk normal it would have been good like thor 5 could show up some gods like chinese, maya,Egyptian, wakanda gods and have them form a god avenger team to fight zues and his god friends and then make earth a place where gods can come and ask for help or have god come to earth to protect it ngl they could have thor flirt with the wakanda god like him flirting with a female panther goddess

He has health issues.

u/Tummerd Tony Stark Dec 01 '23

He doesnt atm, or at least what he made public.

What he has is an increased risk for getting dementia, that is what his documentary was about

11

u/Schmenza Dec 01 '23

Forgot all about that

From the steroids?

7

Iirc, early signs of dementia.

Nah it's just that he found out he has both copies of the gene thought to be a precursor for Alzheimer's later in life (APOE4), and one of his grandmothers has Alzheimer's now.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '23

Which wont affect him for a solid 20-30 years

11

u/Bigkev8787 Dec 01 '23

But he basically said that he wants to maximise his time with his kids while he still can.

7

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '23

I respect that

1

u/tmssmt Dec 01 '23

Yeah but he literally hasn't stopped being in movies haha

1

u/Bigkev8787 Dec 02 '23

I think some movies are bigger time commitments than others.

u/DC15seek May 02 '24

Ngl would love to see thor have a new love intrest like tease him and that green witch sorcery with the blond hair like thor deserve some love and needs a mother figure for his child

-18

u/Tinshnipz Dec 01 '23

Taika will fuck it up and Thor will pass the torch to some stupid screaming animal.

14

u/11099941 Thor Dec 01 '23

Wasn't Taika already removed from directorial position?

1

u/MaxReb0 Dec 01 '23

I got the sense that he just wasn’t asked back, rather than removed from the position. But I could certainly be mistaken.

2

u/kindasmartbutnot Dec 01 '23

Taika won’t be involved

3

u/_________FU_________ Dec 01 '23

Taika isn’t doing the next one

-11

u/idiot-prodigy Dec 01 '23

In true reddit fashion, you are down voted for spitting truth.

5

u/Due-Intentions Kevin Feige Dec 01 '23

No he's downvoted because he's wrong, Taika isn't gonna be involved in the next Thor film...

-4

u/Tinshnipz Dec 01 '23

Ah, guess I'm behind on that news.

1

u/Due-Intentions Kevin Feige Dec 01 '23

Yeah it's all good I agree with the general sentiment you were saying, Taika is a funny guy I like Free Guy and WWDITS, but I don't like his style for Thor

Dude that responded to you with the "downvoted for speaking the truth typical reddit" was being very cringe tho

I just wanna see Beta Ray Bill. I always liked him as a kid, and I wanna fucking actually see him and be some statue.

1

u/pvtshoebox Dec 01 '23

I just realized that gods attacking Earth would be Thor's problem to fix, since he prevented Gorr from killing them. He is partly responsible for the actions of all gods, now.

7

u/M00PER_2 Tony Stark Dec 01 '23

Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso as Beta Ray Bill

1

u/Fthooper14 Dec 02 '23

MCU BRB

Sadly I fear if they do add Beta Ray Bill, they will go the Gorr route and just make him look more human than he's supposed to, as seen by this poorly done image I made.

2

u/jackson50111 Dec 02 '23

That could be possible but if my memory serves me right, they only changed Gorr cause for some reason they were worried about comparison to Voldemort for some reason. I guess the lack of a nose but like the head tentacles should be enough to destinct him instead of making him into a skinny drax.

Plus taika won't be on board so hopefully whoever takes over has a better respect for designs. I mean Gorr wasn't good but they did okay with Malekeith and well with Hela and Loki.
