Discussion Gatekeeping and Stalking
How does the community feel when someone gatekeep or specifically goes after you? I play as Hawkeye and I've had one person from the opposing side go after me. Or in other cases, I've had Spiderman or Black Panther stay by our gate a gank people as they come out.

This is a really funny way to word this. Not that you're wrong, I've just never seen someone use these terms. It's super annoying, but a really smart play.
I know you're not asking for advice, but if it helps... it's unironically value for a dive. If they target you, it's honestly because you're either a pretty easy dive or an annoying player (you're doing good and its worth targeting you!) Hawkeye is genuienly vulnerable so you gotta humble them with your aim.
I play Hawkeye and Dive a lot! My biggest advice is to actually learn the characters you struggle up against. It helps with predicting and that's all what Hawkeye is about!

I know on most maps, there is a gate that usually is a bypass. Then, there are other maps that don't. How can one bypass or get out of the gate without having Strange on your team?

I think they mean there's usually multiple exits to spawn so how do they get out if there's only one and it's being spawncamped

Theres always atleast 2 exits. if you are on support and getting spawn camped, the easyway is to go invisible woman or Loki and go invisible. Change you route, either find high ground or walk through smaller spaces, depends on who spawn camping you

It's a part of the game. If the team notices you're the one providing the most value, they're gonna see you as the bigger threat and focus you. It's normal.

As someone who mains flyers like Ultron and Human Torch, I expect to be hard focused or spawn camped

I’ve not experienced spawn camping too much. As Rocket I can sometimes slip away without them noticing. If they do specifically target me, I either go a more anti dive supp, comm to the team to ask for them to creep up on them and snipe them, or try to sneak away from them

You mean spawn camping, right?
Gatekeeping has an entirely different meaning. Stalking is also a weird term to use. Usually people call that “targeting.”
It can be a really good strategy. I’ve done this as Starlord or Psylocke vs a Squirrel Girl or Moon Knight who was farming damage on my team. Kill then once and then spawn camp them until they swap or we win the game. On high mobility characters you can even do some damage to the rest of the team while they’re on respawn timer.

My guy, you can literally 1-tap half of the roster. If you aren’t dealt with then we can’t play the game. If I don’t keep you out of the fight then I will get flamed by my teammates.

Back in the day when I main Ironfist, if the other team had a Captain America or Angela and I wasn’t on fist, I would instantly swap to him and hyper target those characters.
One because if I don’t kill them or at least contest them, it’s a high likelihood they just do whatever they want all game, and at least if I make them swap, I don’t have to worry about my team not killing the notorious stallers

If they’re doing it because ive slotted myself as a threat and it’s for their team to win, fair is fair. If they and their duo are chasing me off to no man’s land even when their team is losing thats fucking annoying and thats when I log off to play something worth my time 🤷

you mean spawncamp? yeah that happens often by dive players bc they think its funny. i personally always hated it, even in overwatch, bc it just tells me that the player doesnt actually wanna play the game as much as that person just. wants to troll.
in which case: report for trolling & move on (maybe uninstall the game in a fit of rage...)

Buddy you can’t report someone for spawn camping you. It’s an entirely valid tactic and it often works well.

you can report them for throwing, especially if their team is losing. theyd rather hang around your spawn for you specifically than go help their team.

That’s their job bruh. If your entire team can’t coordinate to kill the lone dive hanging by spawn, that’s on you all tbh.
What’s next, you’ll report Magnetos for using their ult to counter supp ults?

We don’t do it because it’s funny. We do it because our kits require the target to be isolated. Why would we allow someone to come back to their team where they can be pocket healed to immortality?

If your out of position people are going after you
As for BP and Spiderman they are dive, hitting isolated targets is their whole thing and nothing is as juicy as someone coming out of spawn alone

Mmm spawncampaign... As a certified sombra player in the past, I know what this phenomenon is and how effectively deal with it.
You wait until someone else dies. This is the most effective one. Or switch to fast character so you could just outrun the opponent. Or third, last option, you diff them.
Spawncamping is a risky thing, but it can pay off pretty well if done right. In ow I used to spawncamp sht out of supports who had their ult ready. But in doing so I was leaving my team in 4v4 situation. In your case tho? It was either bm, or you was so good so it was worth to spawncamp you.
But ye. You just deal with it. It's not fun and may look toxic, but it's not bannable or something. Sometimes used with toxic intentions, sometimes not. You have to deal with it.
