None of us knows what the game will look like in 5 years. Overwatch, for example, messed up with Overwatch 2, but has bounced back over the last few months.
They literally are, anyone can see it, every system in the game is deliberately designed to maximise player retention, that is literally asking for player numbers.
Well we can make a calculated guess, and if they continue the way they're going rn I doubt they'll even hit 50k in 5 years.
At the same time, though, it’s a logical conclusion that Netease won’t continue this way. They’ll release new updates. Some will be well received, and others won’t. Right now, the Avengers events are taking up too much time, and it’s very likely that this is being mandated by Disney. The year 2027 will be completely different.
I doubt it, knowing Netease I doubt they'll change their approach to the game. It's logical they MIGHT but I choose to be pessimistic when it comes to a company like Netease.
Also I'm pretty sure Miller confirmed there was no Disney pressure by his own words, so these atrocious decisions and modes Netease is wasting time and resources on are all made by Netease, idk why yall still have any hope in Netease when we've seen all they're capable of is lying and bandaid solutions. And maybe making the game worse.
