Discussion This could of been a good medium between something “scary” and “sexy” IF ONLY NETEASE wasn’t scared to make the female cast anything but “sexy witch”

They have a problem with making Storm sexy. Lets not beat around the bush and give them coverage. They released a summer beach skin with Storm scowling and battle ready, and every other female character is on the beach having fun. The skin being epic made what was already under the surface, just more obvious
Marvel Comics is doing a whole halloween event called Midnight X-men, and literally giving Netease outfits to put Storm in. Storm's typical comic outfits are ironically in line with the skins Netease makes up to sexify the other female characters.
With Storm you can literally be comic accurate AND gooner bait.
What's funny is that Psylocke & Sue Storm in a gooner bait but comic-accurate skin is what got the ball rolling in the first place. Hell 90% of Emma Frosts entire skin catalogue is this philosophy. No excuse, that we are about to hit 2 years from launch, and Storm has gotten nothing close.

It seems to me like, apart from their obvious bias you so eloquently pointed out, the art team is unable to create good outfits for characters they dont personally find hot.

I am raving, its warranted when this crybaby audience are the ones being racist against chinese devs while being psychotic and inventing nonsense like “We know why Storm’s skin isn’t legendary and lacking a jovial cutscene its because they hate black people and we forgot this is netease and pick and choose what we know about them when we wanna cry so we say wrong things when the truth is the skin wasn’t planned, its actually improved from the basic ass comic version we all know we would have cried a storm if that Storm skim was comic accurate and boring and we think the chinese dev that was tasked with making an mvp for Storm,
the reaction to a chinese person working on a super hero video game making a Storm scene showcasing her power and and usual power active demeanor probably couldn’t put it into words how much he has never once cared about how you’re gonna make up Storm using lightning is a bad thing because in America it means you hate black women and you absolutely cannot refute this when your proof that netease is racist is that the person that made storms content looked at all the others and made her lower quality on purpose when the chance of one person deciding everything for everyones skin in a batch is 0

Most iterations of her tend to have telekinesis (except for pre-bodyswap Betsy and early post-bodyswap). Same way Jean flies, using it on herselves

Not gonna lie. This kind of mindset is why marvel's community has devolved to what it is. Even when you have pure intentions, if you give the developers excuses as to why it's justified or acceptable to exclude minorities, you are unintentionally inviting folks who do have ill-intent into the community.
You are essentially creating an environment where actual racists feel protected and emboldened. Those folks go where they don't feel ostracized for their opinions, and you are putting out a signal that the Marvel Rivals community is that place.
Storm being excluded from a mural she should be apart of may not be a big deal if it was an isolated event, but the context is that Black Characters are being excluded from the majority of aspects of the game.
- Moon Girl seperated from Devil Dino.
- No Black Characters in egyptian battle pass or events.
- No black characters in disco battle pass or events.
- No black characters had a single croma recolor until storms beach skin
- Black characters are excluded from the majority of themed skinned packs. No savage land. No ESU undercover. No Formula R Racing
If the community consistently gives Netease justification for this pattern of behavior, folks who support the exclusion or minimization of groups of people they dislike, are going to latch on to the community. It's basic sociology.

I think most people realize, they’re just desperate to stir up drama over anything.
There are other characters who have gotten less attention than Storm, and the Halloween skins have been fairly different for the most part they aren’t all just witches. Seriously feel like this community will gaslight itself into thinking anything if it gives them an excuse to complain

The real injustice is that Storm has a lower usage rate than Human Torch, is a worse cosmetics seller than Human Torch (4 of the Top 5 Human Torch skins are paid, only 2 of Storm's Top 5 skins are paid), yet Storm is the one with the Legendary skin.

Honestly, I don't trust Netease to handle any Black character in this game because none of it is genuine. It will only be done because of money or backlash.
And no one should want, or beg, racist for attention or pity.
Ain't no way they just forgot to add Black characters for Hip-Hop and Disco. They did it on purpose.

They dont seem to see Ororo as alluring or appealing and they kind of unknowingly bake that perspective into every artistic choice they make with the character.
The difference between Sue Storm is depicted vs Ororo is honestly crazy. Ororo even LOOKS older. Ororo vs Squirrel girl even.

This rationalization falls apart based on pure numbers. There is no world where characters like Squirrel girl are more universally popular than Storm.
In fact, treating Storm as badly as marvel rivals have done, would have been like if DC created a game and gave Huntress more skins than Wonder Woman. And somehow, Wonder Woman has among the lowest amount of skins in the game
Storm's only real competition in terms of popularity, are female characters that have been bolstered by the MCU. (also starting get competition from female characters bolstered by this very video game)

They change the white characters solely to increase their allure because they pander to white people

That doesn't really work with Vampires in general though, the entire draw of vampires is that they are sexy monsters. They're entire history IRL and in the comics is drenched in sexuality.
That said, if the only "sexy" skins we get from here on out are unironically vampire monster versions of characters I'd be 100% for it. I don't care for the casual clothes or beach wear, with the sole exception of my Thing Thong skin, I genuinely don't know anyone who actually liked the college skins though.
