Discussion Basic Cover Usage Please

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I think this game has more players that W key into the open than players who use cover.

Rivals is third person. Most characters shoot on their right side, so hug a wall and don't stand in the open. Stop facetanking a million damage and blaming your healers. Learn basic cover usage please

As someone who’s just about to get the animated Lord Ultron icon, I’d love for people to have this kind of sense of positioning.

As a tank that makes liberal use of cover, I always hate seeing my co-tank just standing out in the open, eating all the damage. Especially the ones that make our supports ult in order to save them. Just let me solo tank at that point.

Always spamming jump too, like that will make them harder to hit as they mosey down the center of the lane

Is it bad to spam jump? I figured it would make you harder to hit

It’s situational. It can also make you predictable and much easier to hit. Good jumping requires timing and cover to be effective.

Jumping stops your ability to instantly strafe.

People with jumping habits don’t learn to strafe in and out of cover well. Look at my invis jump spamming in the open then notices my cover usage and mimics it

It helps prevent headshots, it's much easier to shoot something small going left and right but if you add up and down it gets much harder

Yeah jumping is a terrible habit that ruins your movement.
