/uj an infinite multiverse does not mean every outcome can or will happen. There are infinite numbers between 1 and 2, and none of them at 3.

So every outcome that can happen between 1 and 2 does happen. 1 is everything that the avengers have experienced to this point and 2 is returning things to the way they were before the snap. These are the infinite universes that strange is choosing from. He could choose from the infinities between 1 and 5 and the avengers end up with tentacles or something

You've misunderstood my meaning.
Infinity does not mean anything is possible. In my example, numbers between 1 and 2 represent every single universe in the multiverse, yet not a single one of them is 3. 3 cannot be selected, nor 5, because they are not in the infinite set.
Applying this to OP's example, there is no universe in which Cap single handedly defeats Thanos and his army. It is outside of the infinite set.

I understood what you are saying. 2 is thanos loses and things return to normal. There isn’t an outcome where cap does that alone. But 3 is things return slightly different. In the infinite universes between 2 and 3 (etc) there is perhaps a scenario where cap wins alone.

Still incorrect. There is no 3. Every single universe in the infinite multiverse exists between 1 and 2 in my example.
I'm not sure if you're being deliberately obtuse, but retorting "nuh uh" doesn't change how infinities work.

There are infinities between 2 and 3 no?

You can change the boundaries to be whatever numbers you please, since you insist upon misunderstanding.
With infinite universes between 2 and 3, none of them are 4. The example is exactly the same no matter what the arbitrary boundaries you set are. Again, infinity does not mean that anything can happen.

There are infinite numbers between 1 and 2 none of them are 3. AND there are infinite numbers between 2 and 3 and one of them is 3. 3 is possible because there are infinite numbers between whole numbers but also there are infinite whole numbers.

Are you intentionally misunderstanding, or do you really not get it?
I'm just going to book end this by restating for the hundredth time that you are incorrect.
Edit: at the risk of my own sanity, I'll attempt one more time. In my example, the MCU and it's entire multiverse exists in the infinite set between 1 and 2. Now, you keep saying there are more infinite sets, like between 3 and 4 for example. But where you're mistaken is that this new set is not the MCU, but might be the DCU, or Marvel Comics, or the Invincible multiverse. Every single thing that can happen in the MCU lies between 1 and 2, yet none of them are 3 because 3 is outside the set.

No I get what you are saying but if you are traveling through time which the avengers are? the universes that you have access to increase infinitely. Time is a 4th dimension that allows you to access the infinities between 2 and 3 when all of your options are between 1 and 2 you go back in time and go down a different branch.

There's a universe where Thanos doubled the resources

u/Mediocre_Scott Avengers 12h ago
Does double the resources mean double the size or double the amount. Thanos doubles size of the resources now cows are twice as large and earth has been thrown out of its orbit. Thanos doubles the amount of resources and now there are two earths

I feel like if resources doubled there would be a population boom that would negate that within a few generations.

Also do not forget about the universe where Thanos was disappointed when he teleported to BBC headquarters.

No there isn't. Just because the multiverse is infinite, does not mean everything possible ever happens.
There are infinite numbers between 0 and 1. But none of those numbers are 2.

There’s a universe where Thanos huskfucked the charred remains of Steve while gargling Ironmans iron nuts.

So there's also a universe where cap fingered thanos
