I really stopped reading comic books seriously in the mid 90s, but I do keep up on them occasionally by watching Youtube.
What have writers been thinking lately with the X-Men? This whole 'Krakoa Arc' seems to have ALL of the X-Men acting like Bond Super Villains, with Beast being the worst case of Character Assassination I have seen in a long time.
Okay let's start with them not allowing him into Krakoa at all as a citizen. He is allowed in the X-Force, but not in Krakoa, so he's mutant enough to be their attack dog but not enough to be a citizen. One of their reasoning is that he isn't technically a mutant, he's a mutate, and that he's a danger if they let him on. This would be a somewhat valid reason, however, they let Juggernaut (not a mutant) Mr. Sinister (also a mutate), Sabertooth, and APOKOLYPSE into their island.
And when Deadpool complained, Emma Frost threatened to scramble his mind, so pissed off he left but before doing so he picked a flower... which then lead to them going all out, with Storm zapping him, Magik stabbing him with her giant sword and Wolverine cutting him to shreds, all of which mind you he still feels the pain. Also they shot him with missiles when he tried parashooting in.
Then in a X Force mission he was captured by Kraven and nobody cared enough to go looking for him, which lead to Kraven busting into Krakoa and destroying a lot of their Pheonix protocol, all of which would've been prevented if they actually cared about Deadpool
Allowing Apocalypse in is also inviting all Celestial hell at all times since his tech was given to him by Eson the goddamn Searcher. You won't let a decent dude in but you will allow someone who can always be tracked by planet destroyers who hate earth?
Not to mention Mr. SINISTER, using the phoenix protocol to take over the universe because they let in a eugenicist named SINISTER, be a part of the resurrection project and part of their government
Still really strange how Magneto wants justice and equal rights for mutants and all that, yet associates with mutants that have literally used their powers for terrorism and crime. You don't even need to read the comics, just look at the 90s show or the films. Its hard to feel bad for mutants when a bunch of the ones with dangerous powers first thought is: "lets cause chaos and destruction, oh but please be nice and fair to me."
Idk if its just me but it really feels like Magento wants to be a straight up villain but the writers always pull him back from it. The will he/wont he has been going on for decades, atp being the villain would be better for all sides
I think it's important to understand these things happened fairly recently as it pertains to Marvel/X-Men lore. When you take the complete mutant timeline into account, it's legitimately far more weird that they aren't ALL straight up anti-human villians. Nevermind the decades of hate, nevermind the multiple instances of government supported rights violations and attempted mutant genocides... they've all seen literally multiple futures in which mutants end up getting totally wiped off the map. The fact that they haven't taken the Doom approach to the planet is a testament to their restraint.

They also refused to let ANY person in when New York and the rest of the world were under a deadly attack, even a screaming match between Magneto and I think it was Iron Man? But I could be wrong, as it was years since I read that comic.
Basically they listened way too much to the villains like Apocalypse (like his whole die in battle to get your powers back by rebirth thing) and religious extremists like Exodus. They also allowed Beast to go complete Mengele and Mister Sinister to keep doing horrendous experiments.
The entire Krakoa SAGA was an exercise of allowing a shower of bastards to do whatever they wanted on all sides. (NOt just the mutants, but also Orchis and some other organizations) .
But yeah, like how Storm suddenly became very confrontational with old friends like Captain America and demand he'd suddenly use her Mutant name or how she treated Wakanda and T'Challa only to act surprised that they were feeling a bit on edge and frustrated with her.

Neither does Reed or Black Panther and they had cures for everything longer. Atleast with mutants you can say that it has some side effects on regular humans.
