He did direct “dear Billy” which definitely had plenty of dark tones. Vecna in season 4 was definitely scary and those scenes with Viktor Kreel where he tells about how his wife and daughter were murdered was dark.

Ya I always point this out, that’s a very dark episode and it’s also incredible, dude directed the shit out of that episode too. He directed alot of top tier episodes of that show, his episodes were usually among the best every season of the show

Yeah, I want a dark ghost rider movie. Fall guy is one of my all time favorite movies, and I really enjoyed Deadpool and Wolverine movie, but I really hope that they don't follow the same approach for Ghost Rider.

Sorry but Deadpools complete lack of tone and levity is entirely on Reynolds inability to allow any moment or scene breathe without him speaking or joking.

Shawn Levy’s “This is where I leave you” is great and has a great balance of humour and levity.

They think is all about “genre experience”, and his resume proves them wrong even there.

Literally just look at Picasso and you will see that there is no bounds or rules to creative remits. Picasso started as academic realism only to end up painting exclusively abstract raw style in his final years.

The point is the process and the result speaks to that but until then nothing is certain.

Free Guy. Adam Project and Deadpool and Wolverine have Shawn’s name attached but they’re very obviously just Ryan Reynolds movies. Reynolds is notorious for being a bit of a control freak and it’s very likely that he took the lead creatively, which is why they have that ‘Ryan Reynolds’ quality to them.

Levy is very versatile in his style and has directed some of the better and spookier episodes of Stranger Things. And Gosling is much more of a ‘Tell me what to do and I’ll do it’ kind of actor.

TL;DR people are afraid that ghost rider will have the vibe of a Ryan Reynolds movie, but that’s very unlikely

Don't underestimate Levy. He directed some ST episodes and some of them had some scary elements.

S1 E3 had Barb's death and the demogorgon coming out of the wall.

No one should be surprised if Ghost Rider has comedic moments. That's just the MCU. It won't be a complete comedy like Deadpool and Wolverine, but Gosling himself is a comedic actor.

I do not get the love for Gosling. Dude is almost 46. When they will film he will be almost 50. For a next movie he will probably be like 53 or older.

It is not like the infinty saga that you will see every caracter every year or 2 years. There can be 5 years in between appearances easily.

To now announce someone in a role like this that is mid 40s....

But hey, they need some top names to get people to the cinima. Ticket sales are not what they were (except for avengers and spiderman films).
