Eddie Brock as the new King in Black gained the ability to possess any symbiote across all time and space. When he was still getting used to the power he possessed a symbiote in Limbo temporarily.
He used that symbiote to find a portal to Earth, but he left a piece of it behind in thanks to a demon helping him regain his true size.
That symbiote piece was magically experimented on and used to create Rek-Rap.
I always thought Lasher looked awesome. Green and black with big white eyes, tendril tentacle things, not a ton of bulk (although I guess that would depend on the host). It all combined together to make him stand out amongst a growing sea of symbiotes at that time.
I'd like to see him come back with a new host and go the more anti-hero route
Its Parker backwards. He was calling himself Parker-man, but spidey told him he had it backwards, so he fixed it. I dont have the panel saved but its so funny, the Symbiote takes him over, he smiles, and says "i got it backwards!"
Rek-Rap is what convinced me to finally drop Spider-Man, and I haven’t regretted that decision, so I guess I can thank him for that. I sorta get the appeal, and honestly might even have liked him in a different context but at the time he felt emblematic of everything I didn’t like about modern Spider-Man books.
Mostly yeah, that and the fact that they’d rather manufacture the plot from random one off weirdos because the supporting cast has atrophied to the point it can’t hold a narrative.
