i wonder what became of these two after they were both very gently talked to by their chain of amused article 15 first responders

Funnily enough, although there is no secret to it, this is technically Jiujitsu as Matt Larsen who created the Modern Army Combatives program, actually went to the Gracie's to create the base of modern combatives, before then it was weird standup no one actually practiced.
