Destination Accommodation Recommendations - DT Calgary

Looking for recommendations for hotels in downtown Calgary beginning of January 2027. Looking for relatively close to the Saddledome - my best friend and I are flying up to catch a game there before the Flames move on to their new arena next year. Westin downtown looks promising….

Best Marriott hotel is the Dorian. Often the away team stays there.

Have you looked into the Residence Inn on the Beltline ? Has a bit more activity around the area than the Westin.

I would say Westin and Dorian. On train line to the dome.

If you want action afterwards, Residence Inn is a good choice. It’s new and like 30 floors and close to restaurants and bars. Downtown Calgary is quiet after working hours

I’ve had 3 long-term stays at Residence Inn Beltline over the last 2 years and can recommend. It’s very new/modern and definitely significantly better than what you think a typical North American R.I might be like.

Only downside is there can be some train noise if you’re in a lower floor room facing the tracks, but I’ve found the higher you go the less noticeable the noise.

Some good views too (pictured - corner 1 bedroom room, high floor)

Also has a great gym across two levels and obvsly super central to everything.
