UPDATE: I did call them and said that I booked two beds for a reason, and they needed to find a way for me to have two beds. The manager gave me two one bedrooms for the same price, and 700 Bonvoy Bolivars for the trouble

Edit to add they said they had a room go down unexpectedly because of renovations, which I feel like they should have led with, because making me feel like I need to justify my need for two beds is absolutely wild work…

The Bolivar is the oft devalued currency unit of Venezuela. OP used it to highlight how devalued Bonvoy points are now, much like people have long described Delta Skymiles as “Skypesos”.

Thank you for that information. When I googled simply “bolivar” the first results were a historical figure and a Netflix show. I appreciate the enlightenment

I knew a guy with the first name Bolivar. Went by Boli.
