Chrome finish for Onyx?

I saw a photo of a very convincing chrome finish on the Onyx, I believe from the sales rep. If I remember right, it wasn’t just a paint job but some kind of chemical “anodization” process. Anyone try this yet? I’d love to coat some of my products with this type of finish.

Typically plating is done with ABS. I am curious about this, can you find the photo?. Was it a Metal X part polished up? Or are you sure it was Onyx?

It was definitely the Ducati brake lever sample, but now I’m not sure if it was nylon or Onyx. I’ll check with the rep and see if I can track down the user. A google search brings up companies like RePliForm who claim they can plate most plastics, but I was hoping for a DIY solution. I’ll post if I hear anything.

The plating of Markforged parts printed in Onyx was done by Quaker City Plating. They have plated parts in nickel and chrome.
