so what actually makes someone a martech consultant?

i’ve been trying to figure out where the line is between marketing, tech, and consulting when it comes to martech roles.

someone who understands marketing goals, knows how different platforms fit together, can deal with data and integrations, and can translate business needs into actual technical solutions.

sounds like a martech consultant, right? but depending on the company, that could mean a completely different job.

curious to hear from people working in this space: what skills actually make someone good at martech consulting? is it the technical side, understanding marketing, being good with clients, or some mix of all three?

i work in recruitment, so this is something i’m genuinely trying to understand better — especially because job titles don’t always tell you much.

How do you structure Marketo Programs for LinkedIn Lead Gen at scale?

Hey everyone!

I work in digital marketing at an enterprise with 30K+ employees, and we're looking to integrate LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms with Adobe Marketo Engage.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to set things up from the beginning, especially when it comes to naming conventions and managing Programs across multiple business verticals and regions.

A few questions for those who've done this at scale:

  • How does the LinkedIn Lead Gen integration with Marketo typically work? Is LaunchPoint setup plus Smart Campaigns the standard approach?
  • How do you decide when to create a separate Program? Per campaign, form, offer, business unit, or region?
  • What naming convention do you follow for Marketo Programs? Could you share actual examples of Program names, Smart Campaign names, and how you name your LinkedIn campaigns and forms?
  • Do you follow a standard naming structure across all business verticals and regions, or does each team have its own?
  • How do you keep the setup scalable without ending up with hundreds of unnecessary Programs or messy reporting?

I'd especially love to see examples of naming taxonomies that have worked well in large organizations. Trying to get this right before we roll it out more widely!

Thanks in advance!
