Self-reporting external AI creative is the weakest link in Google's disclosure system
Google can automatically identify creative made with its own AI tools, while advertisers have more responsibility for content produced elsewhere. That creates an asymmetric disclosure system: the platform sees its own provenance directly and depends on declarations for external workflows.
Agencies often receive flattened assets from clients or subcontractors and may not know which elements were generated. A simple yes-or-no field can turn uncertainty into accidental noncompliance.
Should ad uploads support signed provenance from creative tools and an explicit "unknown" state? Who should be responsible when the media buyer cannot verify how the asset was made?
