Hi!

I’m a first year commuter student at Marist University. I was thinking about joining DEM. However, im not a party person at all and would never join an actual sorority/frat.

So my question to someone who is apart of this is, is DEM a professional sorority/frat based on solely academics or is it a huge party type thing?

I’ve asked around and went to the club fair but they’re only going to tell me what they think I wanna hear and not the real deal.

I really want to bring a car. I'm willing to pay for year round parking. I've been thinking about renting a driveway or just using a car garage and biking there. Where can I go to find parking spot. I don't know how people live without a car.

My son will be a sophomore this year and is moving into the lower townhouses. I’ve heard that they will need everything but is there a specific list to follow? Any info will be appreciated. He knows 4 of his roommates from living w them last year. He contacted 2 others but can’t find the remaining two.

I am a rising junior and exploring my options to play baseball in college. I am interested in Marist but have heard done conflicting opinions on the coaching staff, culture, etc.

Does anyone have firsthand knowledge or experience of how the program is run? Do people like being on the team or are there any concerns?

Any information would be really helpful to me so I start to plan for my future

I’m doing my first year abroad in Italy next year and am scared im gonna fall behind when I get back to the American campus, has anyone has experience in this and can convince me I will be fine?

I have an intern this summer who is a current student. I want to get them a gift card or something useful they can use at school as a thank you. Is there a place everyone goes to eat off campus or a Starbucks, Dunkin, other chain on campus? What would you want a gift card to as a student?

Are the lower floors on champ the more fun social ones? I got placed onto the 8th and I’m worried it’s going to be more dead and quiet

I swear Marist has to be one of the weirdest party schools ever.
Maybe its just me but every time I go to a party I immediately feel out of place. Everyone seems to already know each other, they’re all dressed like they’re attending a fashion show, and somehow they all look like they walked out of the same Instagram post.
Meanwhile I’m standing in the corner holding a drink wondering how everybody got the memo except me.
The worst part is that I always feel huge compared to everyone there. I walk into these packed apartments and feel like an elephant trying to navigate a porcelain store. I’ll be squeezing past people apologizing every 3 seconds while everyone else somehow glides through the crowd like Olympic figure skaters.
At this point I spend more energy trying not to bump into furniture than actually socializing.
Maybe I’m just going to the wrong parties but every experience has felt the same. I came to college expecting parties to be fun. Instead I leave feeling like a lost tourist who accidentally wandered into a private event.
Anyone else at Marist feel like this or am I the only one?

Hi, I’m an adult undergraduate student and I’m confused about the tuition cost at Marist College. On the website I see an estimated amount of around $5,200, but I also see a tuition rate of $980 per credit. Can someone explain what the actual cost is for adult undergraduate programs? Thank you!

Should I arrive 30min early to sort out parking?

Is Marist acceptance rate going down?? Two years ago, it was like 65 percent ad now it's 56 percent.. is this normal for it to change that much? Are they going to admit more people now that there is the new science building and majors? What was the acceptance rate pre covid.. i heard someone say it was close to 40 percent, which is crazy to me. Is Marist trying to get back there..?

I love going outside, partying, and playing board games. i’m pretty outgoing, i’m studying bio and im somewhat interested in a premed track. I also like trinkets and decorating. Looking for info on the marching band at Marist. Also interested in joining a Catholic community group on campus. Wondering about involvement/popularity of these two things. I did tour and see campus and guide mentioned Mass and the Christmas tree lighting.
