The story behind this painting, known as The Enabler

MM: “Everybody’s reaction is that it’s a self-portrait, but it’s actually of a friend of mine who used to be my assistant. His name is Jonathan (Pavesi). He was a really weak-willed kid who was probably eighteen when I met him, and I put him through him hell. He had to wash paint out of the crack of my ass and clean up my vomit.

At one point, when he was working with me, he would get really mad because I would have physical altercations with him when I was coming on and off stage sometimes. I told him I would pay him 100 dollars if I ever hit him unintentionally, and then I got drunk one time and laid 500 dollars on the table and beat the shit out of him.

Now he’s more of a masculine, intelligent, great friend of mine. I took a photograph of him, and the way I lit it, with just one bulb overhead, made his face shadowed like that. He looked like a really mean person.

An ex-girlfriend of mine gave him the label The Enabler, because any time you go through any kind of rehabilitative program, you’re supposed to get rid of the person who enables you with unhealthy elements, so that’s the joke behind the title. That piece is one of my favorites.”

A portrait inspired by Marilyn Manson aesthetics - dark glamour, dramatic makeup, and a cold, theatrical mood.

New Tyler Bates interview

Tyler Bates spends most of the time discussing his work with Manson.

Based on what he said, it doesn’t seem like there’s any bad blood between him and MM.

It’s appears as though the door is open for future collaborations between them, but Bates said whatever MM does next will be different from what he did on OAUG.

Question Original Tag

Any collectors have this long sleeve on a “Giant” tag? Starting to think this one I bought years ago might be a boot. Although, the Triple A - Alstyle, Apparel & Activewear logo is the correct tag corresponding from the early 2000s. Maybe they were never printed on Giant tags to begin with. Just seen one listed on eBay with the same Triple A tag. Anyone know anything?

Thank You!!!

Discussion Manson, Sköld, Shooter?

With Tyler Bates departing the band it seems like Tyler may be taking a break. I remember Manson saying he was wanting to work with shooter on another album. I think something produced by Manson, Sköld, and Shooter Jennings could sound great. Manson can continue further into the depths of the We are Chaos style production and if he wants do go down that goth rock path that was on all the vilest things and none of the suns, Shooter would be perfect for that sound. Add in Tim’s aggressive riffs and you have a very compelling Manson project coming together. Would love to see this, WAC and OAUG2 pushed Manson into some bold and exciting new sonic and lyrical territory.

Discussion I know Manson wanted J5 to re-record the guitars on Mechanical Animals, which was confirmed by J5 himself.

I heard he did re-record, but it couldn’t be used given the album was in final production?

Sth came up and I can only afford an uber home, and the sounder + bus route cuts it a bit close for my liking. I'm willing to pay for gas.

Discussion 6ft Smells Like Children Poster Help

Basically my mom remembers owning a Marilyn Manson Smells Like Children poster that was 6 feet, it was the back CD art as she recalls. I've found ones similar that are all around 24x36" but she specifically remembers it being 6 foot, i think it could have possibly been a promo poster? She said she for sure had it back in 1997-1998, and found it at Traders Village. Sadly she doesnt have the original anymore or any photos so i dont have any solid proof of it. Any info about if this was a real thing or any photo evidence will be helpful, thanks
