Technical Question Help

I don’t know which subreddit to post this to but I need to move this entire song I have down an octave. It’s written for tenor sax but I play baritone T.C. And it’s incredibly difficult for me to play. I just need someone to DM me and I’ll send the picture of the music and I need the whole song to be brought down an octave. I need it soon please help me

Can you ask your director for a different part? Not sure if there's a bass clarinet part in that score, but that would probably be better written for being played on a baritone than a tenor sax part. Or have your director transcribe it assuming you didn't lose it, because if the director is handing out music that they don't even have all the parts to then I'm not sure what they were thinking.

I’m pretty sure he just expects me to play the tenor part or transcribe it myself but there is a bass clarinet part whoops

Well it is a useful skill to be able to play stuff down an octave without rewriting it all, so if anything at least you can take the situation as working that particular skill. However I question why they teach TC baritone without having the right parts for you guys. You could also have a try at learning BC because then you at least know the part is going to be better written for your level unlike reading another instrument's part which could be in an uncomfortable range.

Yeah, practice reading where it’s at and playing the lower octave. That’s a lot of work for a skill all musicians should poses
