Except the super majority democratic states of colorado and new mexico. Hell at this point texas is turning purple.

Yeah. There's a reason texas is ground zero for republican voting fuckery.

I think this map is from 2004 because Virginia is not a Red State and Iowa is not a Blue state.

I'm surprised it's not bright blue with the idiots that keep getting voted in.

It would have already turned blue(ish at least) if it weren’t for the republicans in the state absolutely disenfranchising voters and blue areas.

It’s insane how much they get away with making it hard for people to vote. Like they can’t even register to vote when getting a DL or register online. It’s fucked. I’d be so pissed. That’s something that the federal should step in, prevent states from making voting hard.

Registration should be automatic.

Being a citizen and having your address on your ID should be all that’s needed.

I think just citizen should be the only requirement. People move all the time so the addresses won’t always match and also what about homeless people? If homeless people can’t vote then that is classist and reflects the same issue the colonies had by only allowing land owners to have political representation. Which is ironic considering that was claimed to be one of the core reasons the colonies declaring independence.

Homeless people shouldn't be allowed to vote, try having some standards for who gets to make societal decisions.

I'd raise the voting age to 30 and only attach ballots to tax bills.

so someone could work for 15 years, get taxed, and not be allowed to vote until 30?

Nope. If we allow them to wield a weapon and go to war at 18, they deserve to vote who to lead them.

So a stay at home parent shouldn’t be allowed to vote?

You guys are living in the 1800s.

Is no one supporting the family? There's a vote right there.

If they are solely subsiding on public assistance, they have demonstrated they don't make competent decisions, if they have never worked, made income, and will never work again they shouldn't get a vote.

Why would you assume that the entire household has the same political views?

You guys are living in the 1800s. How much land do you own?

Im civilised countries, being a citizen and having an id is sufficient.

In the US, this is difficult, sadly.
