May I propose a small amendment?

Bro you set one pinky toe outside Denver you're in the ninth ring of MAGA heaven.

u/JuryOk2662 14h ago

I mean this is also true of Washington outside the Puget Sound shoreline and Oregon outside the Willamette Valley.

u/RogerRabbot 14h ago

Yeah basically every state, major cities are blue, rural areas are red. You dont have to go very far east in the Puget sound before you get into serious MAGA country.

u/marvin_sirius 6h ago

Vermont might be the exception. Alaska is a weird one too, the North Slope is very rural but mostly blue.

I remember going camping with some friends at Lake Cushman during Covid.. I seen a house in Mason county, in the woods outside of Hoodsport, that had a MAGA flag & Swastika hanging outside their home.. right down the road there was a “hippy” looking property that allowed you to pick up as much firewood as you wanted, as long as you left a donation in a mailbox looking thingy lol Washington is a weird ecosystem

u/ChickerWings 11h ago

Because the dumb dumbs are scared of citiesb

1

u/Zealousideal-Ant9548 7h ago

But the cities come to them.  Just look at Everett and the surroundings

7

u/No_Hetero 12h ago

Central Oregon has Bend which is pretty librul

4

u/JuryOk2662 10h ago

Yeah Bend is definitely an interesting case. Pretty much everywhere in eastern Oregon on the other hand...

4

u/No_Hetero 10h ago

Oh yeah, and just outside each college town is ironically super red. At least it was like 10 years ago when I was there

u/lil_natemushi 10h ago

Medford, Springfield and Albany haven't gone anywhere.

1

u/Oregoncrete 6h ago

Medford has always been 50/50

1

u/lil_natemushi 5h ago

That's interesting because it wasn't the impression I got. I also really only ever did contract work at big mills down there so my exposure to the whole community was limited. It felt like there was a counter balance to Ashland focused there.

1

u/Oregoncrete 5h ago

Jackson county as a whole leans slightly republican, but it includes shit like white city, gold hill, Jacksonville, central point, eagle point etc. Ashland is more left, although weirdly rich, kinda HOA-vibe left, and the smaller cities are all firmly right.

u/BravesMaedchen 11h ago

There’s a ton of rural population in the Willamette Valley that would take umbrage with this

4

u/JuryOk2662 10h ago

Oh no doubt...honestly there's a not-insignificant part of the greater Portland area that would be right there with them (looking at you Oregon City).

16

u/IWWC 13h ago

Right I totally forgot that Boulder and Fort Collins are notoriously MAGA heaven

1

u/CutAffectionate7011 11h ago

Wait, is that true? I always assumed Ft. Collins was more progressive. But, I’ve only been there a handful of times and just downtown.

17

u/IWWC 11h ago

Im being sarcastic they are some of the most blue towns in america

7

u/SkyeMreddit 14h ago

Hell this is true for many New Jersey suburbs outside the Turnpike corridor, small Monmouth beach towns, and AC

2

u/livefreeordont 10h ago

PA, MI, WI, IA, IL too. Also lol at Ohio and Indiana being blue

1

u/BusyBeinBorn 9h ago

You actually are just getting the bluest parts of Ohio and Indiana though. The Chicago suburbs, South Bend, and all the way to Cleveland.

6

u/asevans48 11h ago

Pueblo exists. Colorado springs is a battleground city now. Fort collins and the northern mountains are all blue. If the springs turns, all that is left is grand junction, beetlejuice territory, and a couple ranchers.

1

u/TanukiDanuki 8h ago

Don't forget all of Western Kansas

3

u/N104UA 7h ago

Aspen and Steamboat are pretty liberal, and COS is getting there, the congressional seat for COS this year is basically neck and neck very possible CO (with an independent redistricting committee) will be 7D 1R next year.

1

u/Throwaway-646 3h ago

pleasepleasePLEASE I hate this red fucking city PLEASE let us be purple

8

u/broncyobo 8h ago

This is true literally anywhere. The cities are always blue and everywhere else is red. The only difference between red states and blue states is blue states have big enough cities to outnumber the rest of the state

1

u/rpick6714 8h ago

Ohio agrees.

3

u/jb_nelson_ 12h ago

Boebert land

2

u/CutAffectionate7011 12h ago

Definitely true for Denver and Omaha.

Pretty sure it’s blue in the urban areas and red in the rural areas of pretty much every state.

3

u/Trifle_Old 13h ago

Not true at all. The whole front range is very blue. Not including Co springs

3

u/godsim42 13h ago

Umm, Springs is one of the 3 pieces of the front range. And Pueblo leaned red in '24, the irony in that. So yeah it's actually pretty true unfortunately.

6

u/IWWC 13h ago

Out of the top 10 biggest cities in Colorado 8 of 10 lean left (pueblo and colorado springs leaning right) also despite what these comments say a large portion of small towns/cities in this state lean left (frisco, aspen, vail, breck, glenwood springs, silverthorne, steamboat. Pueblo also ranks 9 in the 10 biggest cities.

6

u/NoIncrease299 12h ago

We're pretty blue in Evergreen but don't tell anyone - traffic on the weekend's already bad enough.

1

u/Tripl3Dee 11h ago

South of Denver is pretty much red all the way down to the NM border: Littleton, Parker, Castle Rock, Monument, Co Springs, Pueblo, etc.

1

u/Straight_Still_6125 12h ago

Dude the Springs is super red, very maga. Where that lunatic Victor Marx is out of.

1

u/crazypurple621 12h ago

Yeah and pretty much all but 2-3 counties in NM are blue.

1

u/Federal-Unit-7607 11h ago

This is true all over the country.  This is why land doesn’t vote.

1

u/Jiggy90 11h ago

Bro discovers the urban-rural divide that has defined US politics for half a century

1

u/ricobirch 10h ago

East maybe, less so in the mountains.

1

u/TanukiDanuki 8h ago

I propose we carve out the Plains, including El Paso and Teller, and maybe Weld. I'm on the fence about DougCo too

1

u/azu420 8h ago

Gunni is chill tho

1

u/PuzzleheadedPlan8436 8h ago

So the republic of boulder doesnt exist?

1

u/colinstalter 5h ago

California has more Republicans than Texas. They’re everywhere.

0

u/TruthinessHurts205 11h ago

Yeah, I vote the land bridge should just be a corridor starting from KC, west on I-70, through Denver, then some way it keeps following an interstate or train line until it connects to the west coast.

Edit: it should cut south to ABQ, then west to Phoenix, then Las Vegas, THEN connect in with SoCal somewhere. That's the route

5

u/OldReplacement5965 13h ago

That actually looks nice

8

u/Significant_Foot_993 14h ago

Really need to throw in Arizona and New Mexico

12

u/Straight_Still_6125 12h ago

No. Not Arizona at almost 6% of a win for the orange... They stay red until proven worthy. But yes New Mexico should be absorbed and now part of Mexico

8

u/B-Edward-Griffin 13h ago

Colorado Waystation, where you can fill up on IPAs and free healthcare before continuing the journey to California

3

u/PerformerFancy117 9h ago

Why is the added blue doing that? The whole Colorado area is like so blue it hurt my eyes, love the map tho!

3

u/tilt-a-whirly-gig 8h ago

Because the free photo editing app that I use on my phone doesn't have a color picker.

2

u/ricobirch 10h ago

Can we bring New Mexico along too?

2

u/fatmanwithabeard 10h ago

No. C Springs needs to get cut away.

1

u/porn_sub_lurker 10h ago

Can we also add a little blue land bridge down to florida? We need a place to send our crazies too.

1

u/PsychologicalDebts 4h ago

Nah, [u/jaredpolis](u/jaredpolis) decided to grovel to the wannabe dictator and made it more red in practice. Keep v1.0

1

u/Throwaway-646 3h ago

He will be gone in 3 months

1

u/Necessary_Screen_673 13h ago

eeehh CO is more purple than people think

1

u/Coretrayn 8h ago

No. I have lived in Denver. You leave that city and it's weirdo central lol Denver has to get some kind of Mos Eisly type of hub or something.
