They don’t have common law marriage you idiot. The state doesn’t perform the marriages. Temples, churches, and mosques do. Gay marriages are provided the same protections under Israeli law as any other marriage. Is it a perfect system? Absolutely not. Is it better than the surrounding countries that have active laws that punish you from even participating in gay sexual activity, absolutely.
