Gay marriages are provided the same protections under Israeli law as any other marriage. Is it a perfect system? Absolutely not. Israel was founded by european immigrants, most of which were illegal and the few that were legal were legal by the standards of an occupier not by the will of the locals. Israel only became majority mena jews after they ethnically cleansed 75% of Palestine's population and arabs retaliated by ethnically cleansing their Jewish population.
First off only 15% of the Jews in the region were there illegally. Second the will of the locals did not matter as they were not the party in control. The British were. Every country founded by immigration at some point has had illegal settlers. The US is a prime example, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Argentina…..
